Very bad experience. Absolutely not recommended
We booked the suite which didn't have cloth hanger and no kitchen utensils at all (spoons, cups, glasses, etc.) Every evening there were small insects coming out of bathroom. The lady-owner was extremely rude. In particular, we wanted to organise a small birthday party for 5 people by the pool, when we asked her for 5 plates-spoons-glasses she replied many times in an angry way that she will have extra work to do because of us. Last but not least, in an island like Mykonos, where people go to sleep during sunrise, breakfast can't be served so early (8-10:30), because technically it means that nobody can have it. I absolutely don't recommend this hotel.
Very unfriendly staff
Gf and I stayed here for two nights and would never stay here again. I don’t mind the bare amenities (rough towels, unfitted sheets, no ice machine). You get what you pay for, but the staff was atrocious. I felt like an invader at this hotel and was intimidated to ask for anything (ice, taxi service, extra towels). There is a hotel next door that our friends stayed at, hotel nazos. Stay there!!! The management at this hotel made us feel very unwelcome!! Go somewhere else. The view is amazing, but that is the only redeeming quality. Ruined our time in Mykonos.
I would not go back
Yes hotel is up a steep hill that is not the problem. The pool (although extremely cold) and the view are great. The problems start with staff attitude, Completely unwelcoming I have never been intimidated to ask for basic things at a hotel front desk but the woman scared me a bit. The room was clean and had mini fridge and AC but it was two twin beds together. They did not have fitted sheets so you end up directly on mattress. Towels were so rough. Shower head didn’t work so could only use hand held one. TV was super small. I can get over a basic room but when I also feel not wanted and not appreciated that’s too much for me. They say this is 3 star hotel and the pool and view are but rooms are 2 star at best.
Normally, I never write bad reviews because I also work with people in my job and I know, we‘re all humans and it‘s possible to have a bad day and to do misstakes. But I have never ever experienced SUCH an unfriendly staff like in Hotel Zannis. The the two ladies who clean the rooms and prepare the breakfast are super nice, but the owner of this Hotel are both a very bad example, how to treat your guests. When we arrived we got a very unkind hello without any introduction about the hotel, the location or the breakfast. When my boyfriend kindly asked if we could please have a double room with one bed and a balcony (as we booked and already paid), she freaked out and told us we can have a room with one bed OR one with a balcony. She urgently called the Agency, yelling „I don‘t have time for this“, gave the phone to my boyfriend and yelled at him „Speak to them!“. If she would have told us nicely, what the two room options are we would have never had a problem. But yelling and walking away like an angry child is not the way I want our question to be replied. The room was okay, although the balcony is more like a shared terasse and the towels in the bathroom are old and shabby, even with holes. Our white bed sheets had many brown spots which was disgusting but we decided, due to her mood and her reaction before, to speak to them the day after. When I asked for new sheets, the owner (her husband) told me, they would change the sheets all three days. However, I told him again that we already received the sheets dirty and I won‘t sleep in those sheets again he got mad and said: „Okay, you get new ones.“ That‘s it, not even an apologize.
We were happy with our room and the breakfast was great. The view from our balcony was fantastic. The location is about a 10 minute walk from town however is up a really steep hill. I am a travel agent and would be cautious in sending clients here due to this fact alone.
