These apartments are awful, dirty, grubby & lacking basic items you need for a self catering holiday, basic cleaning and maintenance have been overlooked for a very long time. The outdoor pool area is nice as is the indoor spa but unfortunately the accommodation is a complete let down.

PERFECT IN EVERYWAY

This hotel was absolutely amazing! It was such a perfect location for us. I came with 4 mates for Winter Pride and we don’t believe we could really fault the hotel. We did have concern if we would be on a high floor but we were on second from the top with a lovely view of the area. Upon cleaning the apartment it was always done to a very high standard even shuffling our items just to make the place more presentable upon our return. The pool area was always spotless and plenty of sunbeds for us to sit and chill when we wanted. Upon arrival and vacating the property the staff were super nice to us and gave us plenty of information about the hotel. Although at times the reception was not always managed a quick phone call on WhatsApp they came straight over to help us with our needs. After not only being back for a week we are already looking at booking for May 2024 but this time for 6 of us!! We cannot wait to be back.

Relaxing Week

We liked our Junior suite very much. It was comfortable with great views from the balcony. We thought the shower in the bathroom needed upgrading and the white towels provided were absolutely useless for drying yourself. It was as if they were coated in something that stopped them from soaking up moisture. The pool are was extremely relaxing, however would benefit from a small bar or kiosk selling refreshments and snacks, or even just a vending machine! The roof terrace was closed most of the time we were there as work was being carried out. To access the beach meant going down steps which should be highlighted for less able visitors.

Pity about the solarium

I returned to El Palmar after visiting last year. Part of the reason I returned was the fabulous Roof Solarium where I sunbathed naked every day for a fortnight last year. During my stay a member of staff came up and told everyone on the roof that sunbathing naked was not allowed. Ironically every person there at the time was naked. Happy Hotel guests instantly became unhappy guests. I see no reason why it can't be " clothing optional" as many hotels in Gran Canaria provide such an area. I asked various staff members and none were able to give a reason for the " no nudity" rule, whilst accepting that many guests were unhappy about it being enforced.

Terrible stay, The staff not helpful at all

On arriving things looked OK, then we found that the outside light didn't work, when we used the shower the water tray filled up and took a long time to drain away, alot of items missing for a self catering apartment, no instructions for using the induction cooker rings, it took us a while to figure out, a cheap frying pan anything we cooked would stick, no oven, then I pulled off the cushion on the sofa and pulled out a t shirt, 2 pairs of socks dirty, a lazer pen, crisps, tissues, an lots of fluff, I had to put a towel down to sit on the sofa because it was so dirty, the full length curtains at the patio doors smelled really bad, we reported the TV going off on a Saturday, and it didn't come back on till the following Thursday, Then we where told to go the day before leaving to reception and ask to keep the room on up until 7pm the next day, which would cost us 30 euros, when I went to ask about it, I was told not possible, we had to leave the room by midday and we where not getting picked up until 6.60pm, overall experience was bloody joke, NEVER GOING BACK
