So, so... nice but misleading
Me and girlfriend booked a room here for 5 days to visit a large group of family also staying here. Hotel lobby very beautiful, rooftop bar and pool beautiful. However man on reception quite rude making a point of questioning how we paid for the room and also asking us for a deposit of $50 dollars (no problem) but when we gave him $100 he suggested to keep the $100 and give it back after. (no thanks). Then to learn not one other person in our group of 14 was asked for a deposit was a little bit strange. We then go to the room which is not the same room as booking.com suggests there was no bathtub which is clearly one of the images advertising the room, actually the reason we booked this room was for the bath. The room also advertised as a window room but there is no point in the window because its literally about 10ft away from next door so all you can see is a white wall. Finally the drinks at rooftop bar are overpriced and subject to 15% service charge when paying the bill. we ordered 3 taxis for our group through the hotel all to the same place, however 3 drastically different prices were charged. Overall had a nice stay here the staff in bar and restaurant very friendly, breakfast was nice. Bar on roof was nice. Pool was nice. Good location. Just annoyed about mis-advertising and different treatment to the rest of our group.
Great city break hotel with rooftop pool
Really good standard hotel in the middle of Ho Chi. Lots of facilities and great breakfast. The rooftop pool and bar terrace is brilliant with panoramic views of the city. Close by to everything central in Ho Chi as well as the riverside. One issue was our view as we were looking out to a construction site (new building being built up) - but it had no effect on our stay and we didn’t have any noise from this. Recommend this hotel.
A comfortable start in a new city
The hotel is well appointed. Staff were efficient and friendly. It's location is very good. Close to many sightseeing spots and shopping hubs. The rooftop pool and bar are an awesome spot to relax and enjoy the view. Good value for money.
Not bad at all
Freindly staff ! Booked tour to the tunnels through reception and was a great tour for a very reasonable price! Got transfer to airport with one of the nicest drivers i had come across . Food at hotel was fine and reasonable pool and bar on top level is a must after dark the view is breathtaking!!! Overall a pleasant stay thanks
Horrible Experience, Rude Front of House Staff, Bunch of Cheeky Liars
Arriving at the hotel where I have booked two separate rooms both non smoking, one standard room and one suite. I was given room 105. This is a smoking room. I didn't ask for smoking room or an air freshener sprayed smoking room. I asked for non smoking. We went back to reception desk for a new room and the lady said "but we have cleaned it up." Not acceptable. They then gave us room 305 which was still a smoking room with a fresh spray of toilet deodoriser/air freshener. We then decided to see which of the twelve floors were absolutely non smoking. On discovering the ash tray stand at each elevator door started to have pot plants on top to show its not an ashtray, we went back to the reception desk. The man who originally checked us in continues to lie to our face. Tells us all floors smoking but all rooms non smoking. We tell him that some whole floors are definitely non smoking. He refuses to accept this to which we say, "come I'll show you." We do this, take him to two floors and point out the truth and his facial expression turns to defeat. Returning to the reception desk we finally get some truth which is that there are no more suite rooms available on non smoking floors. We can have a small room but not what I've paid for. We ask him to switch our room the next day as we are staying for four nights. So the rooms. 305 suite room stinks like years of stale smoke. It also has no hot water. We had cold showers in preparation for nye. Showering before bed after nye also had no hot water. The late night manager was helpful though. Cupboard doors didn't slide. Safe didn't work. Shower head lead was very short (my husband is 6'5") and the vertical bar it is attached to makes me think it shouldn't be so short. We consumed one water and one can of sprite from the mini bar fridge (and we brought with us Bia Saigon all the way from Mui Ne - this is important to note for later). The next day we were moved to room 705. A suite room. This one smells like a non smoking room. Finally! Cupboard doors slide, safe works, shower head lead extends up to the top of the vertical bar. Still no hot water though. The rooftop is decidedly smaller than the photos depict. But it is a good spot for a drink and dip in the pool. It is a social enough space. Linh, female customer service person is a grumpy pants. Met her at the rooftop bar and in the mezzanine restaurant at breakfast. Could have done without the attitude thanks. Checking out was weird as well and really shows how poorly this place is run and the outright cheekiness of the staff and managers. I mentioned earlier that we had brought some drinks with us from days travelling elsewhere, Mui Ne. We're not backpacking, we just had some 'travellers' as we call it in Australia, for the five hour private car ride to Saigon. The final bill is handed to us (the accommodation is already paid in full) and on it is a much higher mini bar total than I had calculated for 1x evian water and 1x sprite can. I ask why it's so high and the lady says "2 bia Saigon and 1x Coke can" to which I said no, that is not right. These drinks we have brought ourselves. The Coke was literally bought that day by my husband after a massage and 10 minutes prior to checking out. She does amend it after "checking with housekeeping" which keeps us waiting even longer. By this stage I just want to get out of this terrible hotel and move on with our journey. All I can say in closing is that the reviews others have written about the service and the quality of rooms or hot water are true. I do not recommend you stay here. Either one night or four nights like we did. Just avoid it! Stay elsewhere. I cannot think of any other hotel I have stayed in that has treated me in such a manner, and I have travelled far and wide. Please also note readers: I didn't just book this in last minute. I had this room booked four months prior and paid half the total price as a deposit. To not get the room I booked on arrival, to be lied to directly to your face, it is all very disappointing and rude. The place ought to be shut down.
