Lovely hotel, lovely people
Traditional Greek family run hotel. On arrival we were given a choice of 2 rooms both were Apartments, spacious and very clean and the views were amazing (513). The bar and eating area is waiter service due to the Covid with everything spaced out for social distancing. The family wore masks all the time in the presence of any guests and used the hand gels before serving you and after when you were finished and left immediately cleaned the area ready for the next guest. Every family member we met was lovely, courteous and would do everything for you where possible. Special mention for Zoe and Louis. Zoe from the first time we met is this bubbly person always smiling even with the mask on you became an instant friend with her and she helped us with lots of things to many to mention. Louis (Zoe’s bf) is a fantastic cook my wife and I spent every evening at the hotel bar( we have previously been to Kamari and visited lots of the bars and restaurants) and he cooked us our meals the portion sizes were big and every dish was tasty hence the extra weight gain. The family helped make our holiday So thank you very much and we will return. One recommendation is see the sunrise it’s fantastic just like the sunset at Oia but Tassos the dad serviced us drinks whilst we watched. Little things like that make a great holiday and memory.
I don’t know where to start with this review BUT bare with me as it might be a wee bit long BUT so worthwhile. Let’s start with the hotel! Everything lived up to my expectations, the size of the apartments, the cleanliness, the view (more about that in a mo) & most importantly the hotel staff (family) there was ample space for 5 adults in an apartment & the beds were very comfortable. We were asked (because of Covid) to let the owners know if we want our rooms cleaned so they could arrange this whilst we were out (safety first) & nothing was too much for them Even when we asked for extras. The view from our enormous balcony was unbelievable!!! It really was something like a movie scene & we even had table & chairs & sunbeds on the balcony so we could sit or lay & enjoy the sunrise or sunsets. It can be a bit windy & everything got blown all over the place but it was a godsend as it was really hot without the wind. Now for the staff (owners) omg I don’t think I can do them justice in a short send but I’m gonna try!!! EVERY single person we’re just bloody amazing. I really didn’t want to leave names as I think it may sound a bit unfair but I’m gonna have to as they were so kind, helpful & the best hosts I’ve ever come across. George was an absolute star & literally went beyond just helping us (even went & bought me travel sickness tablets & wouldn’t take the €) & he organised lifts for us at all times of day & night, there is so much he did that I can’t fit it all on here, then there was Zoe! She looked after us during breakfast & never stopped working alongside her fiancé Louis. Zoe also went above & beyond to help us & make us feel welcome to the point we almost felt like family & then there was Tassos (the dad) he is like superman he was there cooking & cleaning & at one point climbing a mountain to put out a fire. If ever you have the pleasure of Tassos cooking for you!!! Be careful because he’s portion sizes are MASSIVE, & he definitely is a man of many talents! Hence the name SUPERMAN. The whole of Santorini is spectacular & unbelievably beautiful & the views are so unreal it’s magical. The sunrise & sunsets , the white building in the mountains, the restaurants over the sea! I could go on & on. I just want to end by saying a BIG THANK YOU TO ALL AT THE AEGEAN VIEW HOTEL ❤️😘
This hotel is a true gem. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff - they helped with our luggage, posted our postcards for us and helped us book taxis and excursions around the island. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with an excellent bar and restaurant and lovely pool. My friend and I have visited Greece many times, but never have we experienced this level of hospitality and generosity. I would recommend Aegean View time and again - we had a truly unforgettable stay here.
One of the best hotel stays I've ever had!
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel a lot, and Aegean View Hotel has to be the best experience of hospitality I have had. We went to Santorini as part of our honeymoon, and I have a feeling we may have been upgraded for free. The room was beautiful with a stunning view over Kamari and the sea, and I really enjoyed floating in the swimming pool and looking up at the mountain above. What really made this experience so special was just how kind George and his staff were, and how much they went out of their way to make our stay amazing. They answered all of our many questions with really helpful tips (such as what to see/ where to go) and a smile. He was happy to print out some documents I needed for an excursion and also arranged a scooter hire for us. As well as putting the Jacuzzi on for us, I also asked if they would mind arranging for a cake for my husband’s birthday. When we got back for the day, the Jacuzzi was on and a delicious cake was in the fridge, with my husband’s name on, along with some candles and a lighter they had so thoughtfully provided. When we went to check out, George sorted out a taxi for us and also informed me that the cake had been a gift from the hotel! Thank you George for your generosity and for an unforgettable experience at Aegean View!
