Comfortable stay in the riviera
The hotel is located on a short walk to the beach of Dhermi, and is located about a kilometer/mile from the main road. The rooms are fresh and spacious, and we had good warm showers and very comfortable beds and pillows. Staff was very friendly, the service was good. In addition to the pool, there is a tree yard where you can sit in the shade.
The best hotel in Albanian Riviera
This hotel is very clean and well positioned. The rooms are very comfortable and clean . Staff is very friendly and so the owners. The beach is amazing and also the food served in the beach restaurant . Must not be lost if you visit this area of Albania
We recently visited Albania and we stayed in Dhermi for 2 nights. We were pleasantly surprised by the great service and accommodation in at the Splendor Hotel and Spa. Very clean and full service. The beach is great with a small cafe that serves drinks. It was 6 of us all ages including young adults and we all felt the same. The views from the terrace and the pool area were great. The food was very good. The staff spoke English specially Klevin. This was a great experience. The service and accommodation exceeded our expectations
We have traveled in Albania four times and love the country and it's people for their unique culture. This is the first time we've traveled to the south and we chose this hotel because it was close to the beach and the reviews were good. I will be the first to agree that this is not a five star hotel in context of other major cities and resort areas. However, it is splendidly Albanian because it is a work in progress. All Albania is a work in progress so the fact that the hotel wasn't perfect didn't surprise us in the least. We were there in the off season and almost had the hotel to ourselves. Our sons had a double room with the mountain view. It was quite small but, as we've come to expect, there was a third couch-like bed in the room just in case other family arrived. Our suite also had an extra bed. This is typical for Albania where families travel together. Somehow we scored the honeymoom suite with a huge round bed. This was definitely a first for us and we got a kick out of it. We had a stunning ocean view and large balcony but there were no chairs on the balcony. They were happily brought up upon request. Amenities were minimal. Tiny, tiny bars of soap and small bottles of shampoo. We were provided robes but they were quite scratchy. Still, they were thoughtfully placed in the room and were roomy enough enough for my tall husband. For the first two days the internet didn't work but they fixed it and even offered my son and I (we had work obligations) the hotel's office computer when the WiFi was sketchy. The lobby had toys for children and a television going constantly, but every evening it was like joining family as they had our Raki waiting. The pool is exquisite, the grounds need work. The beach is beautiful but you have to walk 100 yards past trash dumpsters. The restaurant was out of almost everything because it was off season, but so were most of the restaurants in the area. Yes, the garage was dark and used for storage, but what the heck, the spaces were large and the elevator was right there. What makes this a four star - and maybe even better than a five star hotel - are the incredibly wonderful people who work there. Clevis and Natalie must get special shout outs. They let me practice my Albanian with them and were kind enough not to laugh too hard. Natalie waited breakfast service long past the 10:00 cut off because she wanted to make sure I had something to eat. The lovely owner showed us her paintings, talked about books and was beyond gracious. So, if you go to the Splendor Hotel bring a bar of soap and some extra shampoo and expected a warm welcome and a work-in-progress true Albanian experience. If you do that, you'll have a wonderful, relaxing time.
Agree with other reviews that this is not a 5 star hotel, probably more like 3 star. We had a great family suite on the top floor with excellent sea views. The room was well appointed, However the shower tray leaked. We chose to have dinner at the hotel and the 15 euro dinner was well worth it! Kids dinner options were limited. Breakfast was ok but not replenished frequently enough. Overall staff were helpful. Nice pool for the kids.
