Adequate
This was the third and final stop for us on our 4th trip to Bali. Our initial impression was not good as the entrance lobby was very gloomy. There was no one immediately there to greet us. We stayed in a luxury ocean room. It was functional , but very small. The pool areas are fine with nice grounds. One point to mention is the hotel is on a sea wall with a drop of about 2 metres to beach level. Parents would need to be very careful to supervise children as there are no railings. The breakfast was help yourself buffet, which while being satisfactory was not as good as other hotels we have stayed at. There were also some penny pinching attitudes at the hotel. There is a sign saying take only one beach towel per person, and we could not see any water fountains to obtain water. They sell you bottled water instead, Overall if this hotel was in Europe, we would have been happy, but is not really a great example of Balinese hospitality.
Sublime Paradise
Outstanding location that is tropical paradise by the ocean beach with elegant and luxurious accommodation with fantastic service. Any activity can easily be arranged and the resort itself is serenity. Rooms are spacious with excellent air con and wifi with double shower, jacuzzi bath and also private and public pool options. Privacy was great but so many options like spa massage and day trips to scenic and cultural sites. Can’t thank the staff enough.
Fabulous resort, swimming pools AND swimming beach
Excellent stay. 10/10 for us. We were here for 7 nights in an Luxury Ocean View room on first floor. Really lovely accommodation. Yes, it was a bit noisy as it was right next to the bar and the casual restaurant which was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So we could hear soft music all day. but if you keep the doors shut its not so bad. If you turned the tv on you wouldn't hear it all all. And really it didnt worry us at all. Would take the same room again. The pools were great, and the sea provided great swimming as well. Lovely clear water. Beautiful! Lots of small restaurants and shops straight outside the resort grounds if you are wanting more choice. Highly recommend the coffee shop immediately to the left of the resorts entrance. Excellent coffee and fabulous ice cream at very inexpensive price. The staff were friendly and competent ( room always perfect ) and the grounds are so beautifully maintained. I loved that they offered a guided walk each morning and evening. Best thing ever! Highly recommend it. Gave me confidence to go out and explore on my own. My only issue was it was a long drive from the Airport-took us over two hours each way. So much traffic! Would love to come back.
A resort on a stunning beach
This is a stunning hotel which has a beach you can swim in. The design is superb. The value is superb. The hotel has 3 dinning areas which provide diversity in offering. The resort has 3 pools to choose from. The staff are amazing in the restaurant area. All staff gave us warmth and great service, but a shout out to Manu. Manu was exceptional and provided us such pleasure in chatting with her each day. Some small restaurants, spas and shops are nearby. The actual town is 2 km away with a free bus service from the hotel. There is a ATM right outside the front entrance of the hotel. We will definitely coming back to this stunning hotel/resort.
Splendid isolation, wonderful people and great food.
This turned out to be an incredible stay, 10 days in a stunning location not least dwarfed by an enormous live volcano. The local community, many who work in the resort are lovely, friendly people who will do anything to make your stay as great as possible. Befriend them and they will tell you where to go, what to eat an what to see. We stayed in a luxury villa, totally secluded with; an infinity pool, double showers, double sinks, dressing gowns, free sarongs and fully air conditioned serviced twice a day, absolutely quiet amidst the palm trees. The food which was included was well presented and first class, just watch the 21% tax on food and drink outside the inclusions. You could stuff your face at breakfast with endless coffee and a wide variety of cereals. I loved the Candi Granola with dragon fruit puree and eggs any way you wanted. We explored the wide range of Indonesian dishes, some of which we'd never heard of, I think I got used to Gado Gado for starter every day. The area is clean and you can hire boats to take you on excursions, on a really calm day we grabbed an outrigger and we are still aghast at the size of Mt. Agung in the background. There is a large area to snorkel off the beach and a day's hire of gear is $11, I would have loved to try a long board on the waves that crash on to the reef but could find one to hire. I could go on but Candidasa was so quiet and serene, it is a long trip east from Denpasar taking up to two hours to reach but believe me, it is worth it. I have pleaded to the people to keep it this way as we would love to go back.
