Amazing Place Amazing Location
Atlantic Holiday Hotel has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Amazing location perched on the cliffs with the ocean on your doorstep. Our apartment was spacious the views from our balcony of the ocean and the beach was just so beautiful and relaxing. The staff are so friendly , warm and welcoming. Our apartment was cleaned every day . Their is a great restaurant , bar, tennis courts and kiddies play area. The pool area is very good plenty of areas to enjoy the sun and the beautiful ocean views. Restaurants, bars, shops are only a short walk away. Their are lovely cliff path walks. We had the best 7 day holiday didn't want to leave and can't wait to return. Thank you to all the staff what a great job they all do providing a high standard of customer service.
Did not honour our reservation
If you are happy to take the risk of scrambling around for hours days before your holiday to find a replacement hotel, book here! Otherwise avoid. We had booked in several months prior and all was fine… until 3 days before arrival when the hotel sent a message in the booking.com app saying “Dear Customer We regret to inform you that we are unable to accommodate your reservation for the dates you have booked… We are sorry to have to inform you at such short notice. But we were waiting until the last minute, in case we had any cancellations or unforeseen departures”. How precisely could this happen? Why had the hotel booked a room they did not have? Both are questions I raised to the hotel when I rang up immediately after receiving this message… only be told that they have no availability for the dates booked and no further explanation could be provided. No apology, no email of explanation, just a message in the app which could easily have been missed. Disgraceful. Thankfully booking.com agreed that the way the hotel had treated us was appalling and subsided our stay at a much better hotel. I hope they charged the subsidy back to Atlantic Holiday Hotel as that is the least they deserve. Not worth the risk!
Not impressed with this all inclusive hotel
To begin, the staff at this hotel were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Then it ends. The hotel was definately not a 4*, there was no lounge bar for relaxing in the evening, just an extension of the dining room. We checked in at the same time as a large group of Senior Scandinavians who literally took over the hotel for the next week (they were lovely people), the restaurant area became full every evening and we took our meals on tables in the corridor. They also took over the restant/bar area in the evenings. The food was ok for breakfast, but lunchtime and evening it was not good. The evening dinner was supposedly 'a la carte' offering a choice of 2 or 3 main courses, it was not good at all, the soup generally was cold, the main course was on one occasion undercooked and another overcooked ( even though we were all inclusive, on 3 nights we ate in a couple of excellent local restaurants). The resost of Callao Salvaje was too quiet, with nothing to do either in the day or evening, twice we took a 16 euro each way taxi to Fanabe, the local bus service was virtually non existant. The beach next to the hotel was a mix of black sand and stones, which in itself was ok but although there were sun shades there were no sun loungers or deckchairs to rent. We would not come back to this hotel or resort.
Fabulous
I absolutely loved this hotel. I went alone for R&R, didn’t eat at the hotel at all but enjoyed a few of the local restaurants and used the kitchenette in the apartment. I have no complaints though you wouldn’t like this place if you wanted to party. It’s a small quiet place with a pretty sparse but reliable bus route. The bus from San Cristobal was laborious so I opted to get a taxi back to the airport on return home (€40). The beds did roll about when you moved too much which was a little annoying and the pool was gloriously not chlorinated but chilly in February but overall it was great - kitchenette had a fridge, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and pretty much what you’d need. I will say supermarkets in the town were basic so I was sorry I didn’t take some food with me! I didn’t find any amazing markets in the south (they’re amazing up north). I plan to return here.
Perfect hotel and holiday
My husband and I are staying at this hotel for 2 weeks and I wish it was for longer. Our superior apartment is perfect. The views are amazing! Our apartment is cleaned every day , the towels are changed every day, bed linen changed very regularly. The restaurant is classy and inviting, I had the salmon and it was delicious. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We would love to come back next year, but will have to wait and see if there is availability. Well done to everyone who have us such a great holiday.
