A lovely week away
A really lovely and peaceful hotel. The jacuzzis on site were a great bonus and the entire experience and the staff were all great. The restaurant had a good selection of food and it was overall a really great week.
A wonderful place to relax and wind down
We came home yesterday after spending a gloriously relaxing week at the Romantic suites. It’s a beautiful complex of private chalets nestled amongst lush well kemp grounds. It’s a very tranquil setting so not for party animals and yes it is predominantly German/ Dutch and French but everyone was friendly and respectful of each other. Because it’s predominantly German so is the TV but we didn’t go to watch TV we downloaded a few bits before we came and watched them when we felt like it. The suites are lovely albeit dated in decor. They could do with a style refresh but they were very well maintained. I’m not quite sure about the glass wall looking through the bedroom to the bathroom. Lucky I was with my husband because if I was with a friend I might find it a bit alarming !! There’s a fridge which had fresh water in daily plus a safe for your valuables. The housekeeping was exceptional and a big thank you to Vanessa who was incredible and is a huge asset to the company. The pool was gorgeous despite it being freezing cold. It’s certainly character building taking the plunge but it’s worth it. We didn’t use the jacuzzis dotted around the grounds but lots of people did and they looked like they were enjoying their experience. My husband used the sauna quite often and found it to be very relaxing between 60-80 degrees. The food is all served in the sister hotel over the walkway. It’s pleasant enough. Breakfast was the best. We rarely went for lunch. Dinner had something for everyone. Most dishes were under seasoned but there was salt and pepper on every table and an array of herbs and spices if you wanted to add more flavour. It was perfectly acceptable for a 4 star hotel. Re the lunch time snacks served in the Romantic suites I would suggest you look at the quality that is being served. Compared to the main restaurant this area of dining all inclusive is very lack lustre. There are 5 items on the snack menu all of which are grim. After trying the cold, limp toastie and the frozen, stodgy calamari I thought I couldn’t go wrong with a salad the next day but sadly this was doused in vinaigrette and all the contents were fridge burnt. I gave up after day three and went to the mini market for a delicious fresh sandwich and the all important Lays crisps. There are some simple fixes here. A toastie or panini maker, a crepe machine ( I’ve got one at home and you don’t need to be a crepe artisan to use it) a jacket potato oven? Fresh salad? A selection of fresh sandwiches in a small cold cabinet. Maybe an air fryer they are all the rage nowadays. What about ice creams in a small freezer served between 3-4 pm maybe so it’s not too expensive for the hotel but a treat late afternoon. Small things but the quality does need looking into. If you are considering hiring a car then do it. I was terrified but had to hire one to get around the island. I’m glad we did. The roads are perfect and there was no pressure to go 100 miles an hour. We booked ours before we came through Payless cars. Very reliable and no hidden extras. Go on, be brave. The hotel has a car park plenty big enough for both hotels and most had a car. The small town is a 10 minute stroll from the hotel. It’s got everything you need including a large spar supermarket, a few fabulous restaurants/ cafes and a couple of extra little gift shops to buy souvenirs. It’s off the tourist track but head down to Moro Jable or up to Puerto De Rosario if you want to do serious shopping. We had the best week here and would not hesitate in booking again. The staff in both hotels were so friendly. They are multilingual so I don’t understand previous reviews about them not speaking English. As it’s a predominantly German resort of course they are more inclined to speak German as their second language but my schoolgirl French, Spanish and German plus a few well chosen hand gestures got us through the week with a few laughs along the way.
Great hotel, very relaxing and had everything we needed!
We stayed at this hotel 3 - 13 March and had a great time. The staff are friendly and attention to detail was noticeable. Shout out to Adrian on reception who was really helpful to us! We stayed on an all inclusive basis and there was plenty of food choice at the buffets. I really liked the basket of gluten free bread etc during all meals. There is a Spar shop close to the hotel and a shop on site at the hotel. We stayed in Room 509 and enjoyed playing cards on the balcony at night. This hotel has everything you need although having a hire car was really good for us to venture out on some days. Overall would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break away :) a very nice environment!
Not fit for English guests
Where to start?? Satellite Tv channels non existent until we made a complaint (7 days later) and only to find that there was 5 English channels where not even one single was movies….we had 1 sports,1 French/English news,1 bbc news but best of all 2 kid’s channels on a ADULT ONLY HOTEL. If you are German this is the place for you as even though you are in a Spanish country the tv is set on German. Wi-fi don’t work even if you pay the premium. Restaurant manager rude as hell when you try to get cutlery but general hotel manager really helpful. It’s a shame the staff don’t back her up. A lot to improve there. Room service at almost 15:00???? Not admissible when you come on a country that does Siesta. Some members of staff are really friendly with English speaking guests as others just seem concentrating on German guests. A piece of advise, the majority of guest (around 90%) are German/Dutch and therefore you will notice that the staff speaks better German than English. I felt as an outsider in some ways even though I was lucky enough to understand Spanish otherwise I would look as lost as my wife. Accommodation is not bad even though is in need of some TLC. Will I return??? Most likely not as when I go on holidays I do not expect to be chasing/repeating myself for a service that was advertised but not materialised.
Great Resort in Fuerteventura
A very cozy hotel which offers a range of things to do. The area is very quiet and doesnt have much to do in the area, but a few iconic photo points, there is a local spar if you need anything however the hotel offers eveything you need. Jimmy and Jose at reception were always very helpful and polite. Would highly recommend this hotel for your stay. Its 5 mins to the Zoo which is amazing and great as a couple or family. There is also a place opposite to hire a car, buggy, or scooter. The pools and Spa were great however i wouldn't recommend a facial but a full body massage. :-)
