We had a beatiful Holiday time in this płace Close to the beach Good breakfast and interior in restaurant also outside Pools with fresh clean water Room service everyday and perfect quality Quaiet area but close to the center of the city
A great base for sightseeing
We booked about 4 weeks before our holiday. We arrived at midnight and were shown to our room. We did insist that we change rooms the next day as we'd paid for a sea view. The reception team were happy to do this. We found the hotel staff charming and they really appreciated our attempt to speak Bulgarian! The food was ok, breakfasts, were the usual cooked and continental style and dinners, a bit repetitive after a fortnight. We ate out 3 times, as we like to spend a while eating and enjoying different restaurants. We sat around around the pool, when the sun shone, and it was extremely quiet, being early September. Never any rush for sunbeds. In fact, only 4 to 6 people around it at the most. Things to do:- Turn right and you can walk to Sozopol old town. It's around a 20 min walk. We loved it, although it was the newer parts were being boarded up and closing down daily, as it was the end of season. The season ends at the end of August. We was about a 5 minute walk from Bamboo Beach. Most people buy an umbrella at the beginning of the holiday as the beach umbrellas and sunbeds are quite expensive. We also found another quieter/calmer water beach. If you turned left and follow the road, past Lidl. It's around a 20 minute walk. You'll see a tiled house, it's very quirky, and then you're nearly there. You can carry on and walk the whole way round the headland. It's around 3 miles. Lidl - is within spitting distance to your left and up the hill. As we have a fridge and kettle in our room, we stocked up with lunch food. The Lidl has a very interesting foyer. It shows all the items found in the archaeological dig that happened before it was built. We took the catamaran to Nessebar. It only goes on calm sea days. It takes around 45 mins and you can buy the tickets on the day at the harbour. Nessebar is lovely and quaint. Very pretty and much bigger than Sozopol. There are numerous restaurants, shops and churches to explore. Make sure you catch the early boat there and stay until 5.30pm at least. Borgas - we caught the bus from the town centre, near the old town. We had to ask where to wait as there was some confusion. The bus was only £2 each way! It takes around 30 mins. You will be dropped off a tthe railway station. When you get there, walk along the port/seafront and you'll arrive at the Sea gardens. Beautiful to walk around with very cheap cafes. The city was lovely and we found it the cheapest place for tea and cakes. We spent ages looking for the giant gramophone statue! It was nice to tick off our to do list. The Castle of Ravadinov. We started walking to the castle as we believed it was an hours walk. We turned back as the road was too busy and caught a taxi there. It cost us £15 return. The taxi driver picked us up after 2 hours. Ensure you go into the wine cellar too. It's quite Harry Potter style. It's a lovely recently created castle, and a bit twee, but beautiful. The Airport!! It was packed as 3 flights were going out after 11pm. It took an hour and a half to drop off our bags and get through security. We only had around 20 mins, to grab some water and shop. Not the nicest end to the holiday. To summarise, the hotel was lovely, an interesting culture and lovely places to visit. We enjoyed out 2 weeks.
Visited early September with elderly mother. Hotel near beach and new town Hotel is basic clean and staff friendly after a time Resturant staff friendly the food basic cool and repetitive but you won’t go hungry However hotel not suitable for anyone with mobility problems and no floor is level stairs everywhere and no lift
Stayed here for a week beginning of September hotel is lovely only a short walk into the new town 15 minutes and about 25 to old town so ideal location for a chilled holiday staff were friendly and nothing was to much for them hotel was spotless we had a lovely apartment opposite the pool (which we hadn’t booked) because we had a late flight there was a little packed lunch waiting for us the only thing I would say was the food wasn’t to my liking which isn’t there fault I’m a fussy eater but what I did eat was lovely I’d definitely go back here but I’d go self catering and I’d definitely recommend but if your a fussy eater then go self catering it’s as cheap as chips to eat out anyway
We only had a week here but wished we had longer No real complaints from us Hotel is well situated, right on the beach and bars and food all around. We had a sea view which is nice as the front balconies face a busy road. We ate in the restaurant last 2 nights and it was very good. Usual buffet breakfast is superb with plenty of choice. Polite staff and rooms cleaned well every day. Pool is abit on the small side but ok to cool off in on the really hot days. There was a nice breeze every day but bad currents in the sea meant the lifeguard wouldn’t let any one go too deep as its dangerous. Did the parasailing which was fun and gave amazing views of our bay and the next one. Would recommend this hotel for couples and families as a great base to explore this lovely area.
