A bad experience at the Galazio Beach Resort/Appartments & Suites

We’re a family of four who has just returned from a week’s holiday at the Galazio Beach Resort/Galazio Apartments & Suites, Analipsi, Crete. I hardly ever write about my experiences, but in this case I will. On the day of arrival at 6.30 pm, our rooms (we booked a two-room apartment with a kitchen) apparently still hadn’t been cleaned – despite check out was at 11 am. We also learned that the pool would shut a 7.00 every day – much to the kids’ disappointment. When supposed to be ready, the sofa bed in the living room had no mattresses, there were no light in the living room/kitchen (except for one very bright lamp just below the ceiling) – and there were no towels. It was a late night, and a bad start of our holiday. Although a relatively new resort – I believe, facilities and inventory were of the lowest quality, already worn-down or never fully/properly installed. It turned out that: • The air-condition was not even able to cool down our bedroom – where it was installed. The adjacent living room was so warm, that the kids couldn’t sleep. We were given a fan, but (obviously) little did it help. • The outer door to the balcony was broken. • Electrical wiring at the bathroom were exposed. • The location of the water tap in the kitchen sink, was somehow wrongly dimensioned - and water poured over you. • The tiny television screen hanging way to high on the bedroom wall, did not show the international channels promised in the advert. • The fitness room promised was not there. • There were no door locks on the toilets in the pool area. In addition, you never really knew when breakfast was on – we were told from 7.30 am, but most of the time it was 8 - most unfortunate for all the visitors attending tours, who would normally be picked up before this. A final sad input was this dutch family with their 8-year-old son (apparently close friends of the owner – and having special privileges), who kept chasing/confronting the other visitors for mistakenly believing, that the huge pile of inflatable swimming rings, pool mattresses etc. located next to the pool area, were part of the facilities and for common use. Many families would themselves experience or overview the stunning spectacle of this little guy (with the help of his father) pulling various pool toys out of their hands – repeating the phrase “it’s mine, it’s mine etc.” Although people were obviously appalled by this behaviour, it soon became a joke amongst us “ordinary” visitors. Apparently, this family spends at least 1½ months at the resort per year, so if not for anything else but a laugh, you may want to drop by sometime.

Great place, excellent location...

Apartments are great, clean and right opposite the beach. The pool area is amazing with plenty of sunbeds & shade when needed. Free beds & umbrellas on the beach for Galazio guests. Apartments were cleaned everyday, towels & bedding changed once during the week. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Supermarket and restaurant on site. Toilet rolls provided for duration of stay. A few negatives which prevented me giving 5 stars - no privacy on the balcony, maybe some bamboo screening could be erected to separate from next door apartment. A few additions needed for self catering, such as toaster, tea towel, chopping board, bowl/plug for sink. The resident parrot, although lovely was rather noisy on occasions squawking intermittently throughout the day, could even hear it on the beach...but all in all a great place and would recommend staying here...

Excellent standard, excellent stay

My wife and I stayed in August 2022 and had the best holiday we have ever had. The situation of Galazio is so pleasant, just across the quiet road to the beach and a beautiful pool and restaurant to the side and front. George and his family and staff looked after us and made us feel so welcome! They are a lovely family, all working hard to make sure their guests are looked after to the best of their ability. The supermarket they run provides fresh bread every morning and during the day you can walk between the lovely pool and the free sunbeds they have across the road before relaxing with drinks or food at the restaurant in the evening. I highly recommend Galazio! Ps for car hire we also had great service and a good price from TSOUKOS in the village too. Manos is a great guy who will ensure that you get great customer service! You simply cannot beat Greece for hospitality!

Excellent place to stay in Analypsis

I had a great stay in one of the upper appartment, on the terrace facing the sea. Apartment was well equiped and clean. It is a great location in Analypsis. Staff of the place is lovely and it's great there is a supermarket just above the apartment

Galazio Suite

Stayed here for 3 nights after our flight home was cancelled. Had the suite with a roof terrace which was beautiful. Across the street is a lovely beach which residents have complimentary beds and umbrellas at. Lovely bar next door owned by the same family. Great, fully stocked supermarket underneath too. Would highly recommend a stay here. In the suite we had a queen size bed. There is only a shower in the bathroom, a small kitchen with just a Hob and kettle and a sofa (pulls out to double bed). Was ample room for us with a 3 year old especially with the outside terrace space. We spent every evening out there taking in the sunset and atmosphere. Will be even better when the large pool is finished in 1 month.
