Some good - and a lot of bad.

First, the good: - Great location - close to Abu Dhabi and Galleria malls and most attractions. - Lobby and pool areas are very nice. - Rooms have nice electronic do not disturb/make up room indicators, so no need for door knob tags. - Staff (except for unhappy towel hut lady) are very friendly. Now, the bad: - the bath/shower combination may be the worst I've ever seen. Need to be a gymnast in order to get in and out of it without breaking your neck and impossible to have shower without flooding the bathroom floor each time. Bathtub was clearly not designed to be used as a shower - too narrow and no friction at all on base. It was the source of daily frustration and is reason alone I'd never stay at this hotel again. - Bathroom contains hair dryer but only electrical outlet in bathroom says "Razors Only"???? - Nowhere to store clothes in room except small armoire with a few hangers and one tiny drawer inside it. No other dresser or drawers at all. Where are two people supposed to put a week's worth of clothes? As a result, we had to lay our underwear, socks, etc. all over the room wherever we could find a flat surface. - Minibar entirely empty (???) - No coffee maker in room - only kettle and packages of instant coffee - in 2024??? - No balcony and view of roof and ventilation system. - Only one window that opened only a small crack for fresh air. - Took repeated calls to service desk to get anything (extra hangers, extra towels to soak up flooded bathroom floor, etc.). Never came on the first try. - Security check, including interrogation and bag search, each time you enter pool/beach area to ensure you aren't smuggling any outside food or drink - clearly designed to force guests to purchase hotel's overpriced beverages and food. Mercifully, they do allow you to bring water into the area. - Towels in the pool/beach area are allotted individually only after providing your name, room number and check-in time, but are to be returned anonymously into a nearby receptacle - so what's the point of the individualized check-in allotment procedure if there's no reciprocal check-out one??? - "Beach" is not what you'd expect from the hotel website's photos, which have been carefully cropped to not show that it is in fact a small stretch of trucked-in sand bordering a very narrow inner-city sea canal entirely surrounded by concrete structures - two busy highway overpasses on either side and facing a row of skyscrapers (see photos). Better than nothing I suppose, but felt sorry for those who chose this hotel for a "beach" holiday. - Restaurants were handy and food ok, but odd - "Mykonos" had no Greek food on the menu (???) and English pub was almost too authentic - dark, 70's vinyl booth decor and reeking of stale cigarette smoke. - Coffee bar in lobby only opens at 8 am, which is a bit late for guests catching early meetings, tours or flights. - Elevators play the same Ed Sheeran song (Castle on the Hill) on an endless loop - the same song. over and over, day after day after day. Absolutely bizarre (though admittedly a constant source of amusement among the communally perplexed guests :)). A shame, because place has/had potential to be excellent.

Excellent stay! Highly recommended!

This is an extremely charming and elegant hotel. We were checked in by Chandra and Joseph and they were instrumental in a very smooth, friendly, professional and quick check in. Other receptionists Borhan, Ismail, Jasper, Aitunuk, Mahen are very helpful, courteous and very attentive. The room was big, spacious and super clean. The housekeeper, Nezam and Room Service Team were very friendly and always made sure everything was good and that we had enough of everything. Concierge Abdulsalam and Borhan advised us about the city and nice places to visit. Thanks to Security Team, they are so friendly, nice and always smiling. Breakfast was great and everything was very tasty. The renovated swimming pool is amazing and beautiful. Thanks to all staff members for making our stay very comfortable, unforgettable and taking care of all our needs and beyond. Highly recommend!
