I stayed with my husband at the Rotana hotel in Salalah from November 13 to November 27, 2023. I fully recommend this hotel. beautifully located, clean rooms, clean surroundings and super nice staff, very helpful and smiling. However, I would like to single out Ashraf Shisha Man (ashraf Mohmmeb) for his culture and smile, as well as the waiter from the hotel restaurant, Anas. We had a nice vacation there.

Perfect Plaza

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, service was good and value for money excellent given the superb location right on the beach. Swimming in the warm Arabian Sea was great fun and then relaxing either near the hotel pools or on the beach. We hired a car and visited a number of the sites within half an hour drive of the hotel so as to not just stay in the hotel the entire time. Dinner at the Ocean beachside restaurant was lovely and the location stunning. Thanks to everyone in the hotel for taking care of us.

Salalah hardly has any new resorts, so it was difficult to choose. The guests are mostly 55+ and have German, Polish and Czech nationalities. For the hefty price of €222 per night you stay in a simple, very dated old room including breakfast. Compared to what you get in Abu Dhabi, for example, it is downright bad. Salalah Crowne Plaza claims to be a 5 star hotel but this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Pros - Free airport shuttle with friendly driver. - Early arrival, but the room was ready within half an hour without any charges. - Beachfront location. - Ocean Beach House with restaurants and a roof terrace with beautiful sunset views; this is probably their best asset. Cons - Old building, lobby, furniture, rooms, beds & mattresses, dated bathrooms with a lot of wear and tear (showering in a bath with a shower curtain is not from this century) and the ugliest 'pool deck' ever. - We were supposed to be informed when the room was ready, but the reception forgot about us. - No help bringing suitcases to the room. - The staff in general (except the waiting staff in OBH) is not very friendly, welcoming and well trained. There is a lack of management; the GM was never on the floor to see what was going on. Many staff walk around grumpy and the FO staff in particular look very irritated (the exception is Ahmed!). - Beach towels are old and very difficult to find; it would be helpful if they were provided in a central position. I had to ask 3 different staff members and they just pointed me in the direction. - No staff and service on the beach. - Dust in the rooms, ventilation grilles not clean, bath poorly sealed, waste bin in the bathroom not emptied. - Choice for breakfast is very limited, no fresh juices, many things on the buffet are not replenished after 9:45 am. Breakfast ends at 10:30 am. - The beach and ocean itself are ok, but cleaning of cigarette butts, plastic lids and small branches is required daily. See photo; this was only what we found around our sun loungers. - Most beach guests claim 2 sun loungers per person. - F&B is very expensive.

good food , very nice people

If you need help at breakfast , Sufyan is the right man to ask. Always ready to prepare the meals exactely the way you need with a warm smile on his face. Everything is clean , not a lot of variety of food but all deliciouse.

Great Hotle nice staff Easy to stroll in it close to the beach Excellent services and more I recommend this hotel to the visitor when he is looking for luxury and they have activities, but I advise the tourist to search on Google or social media platforms for a guide or maybe it is a better price difference
