Moderni ja kauniisti sisustettu huone/hotelli. Hyvä palvelu hotellilla ja meistä huolehdittiin. Hyvin palvelualtis allasbaari. Hotellista lyhyt matka katsomaan auringonlaskua.

Good hotel

Hotel is in a great location, short walk and you are in the heart of things. Room was clean, smelt damp though, probably had a view at some point but someone had decided to start building (but not complete) a house just to the side of the room so in effect you were looking onto a building site. It would seem that most rooms did not have a view as they looked onto a wall. At 5ft tall I was unable to look in the bathroom mirror as it was too high - but don’t suppose too many people would have that problem LOL. Guest arriving on short stays - 3 days-appeared to be given pool views which seemed a wee bit silly, why not give these rooms to guest will longer stays! As we had a late departure I asked if we could keep our room on for an extra few hours, the hotel said it was 150 Euros to keep the room until 18.30, alternatively I could use the courtesy room - there is no such room, there is a shower cubicle in the ladies/gents toilets, you may have to queue for this, there is no hair drying facility. Breakfast was very poor, the same food each day, eggs were served fried, boiled, scrambled, in omelettes and french toast, tinned fruit was served with the exception of melon and grapes. The bar inside the hotel was never open, the pool bar closed at 10pm. Bar staff, males on reception desk and cleaners were all lovely and very hard working. It was a great holiday, if I visited Santorini again I would probably stay else where, at £1,000 a pop not sure it was worth it

Wonderful hotel, would highly recommend.

If you are anything like me and looking at reviews questioning wether to book or not... Do it. This hotel is beautiful. Baring in mind I booked a room with a 'Garden view' we were lucky to have a room right on the pool front and was able to watch the sunrise over the sea every morning. We also had the lovely sound of the donkey bells pass our windows in the morning too. I'm missing these small things from the holiday already. We stayed from 26th August - 2nd September and it was still pretty busy with a few families around but not loads and loads, this didn't bother us anyway. We went as a couple and highly enjoyed the hotel, from the room to the location. The hotel gives you fresh pool towels every morning which is lovely (although we did bring our own). The showers in the rooms were lovely! If you like a high pressure water shower, you're in for a treat! The rooms were cleaned every day to a great standard and it was quite a large room too. The location is fantastic, all you need is within a short walking distance. You can walk to the supermarket in 5 mins, the bus stop (that takes you to Kamari and Oía etc) in about 15 mins, the three Bells of Thira are just oppersit the hotel and there are some great restaurants and cafes around to enjoy. I think the only downside to this hotel was the breakfast, we didn't enjoy it that much. There wasn't much variety and we felt it could have been changed up a bit. I can recommend having the Greek yoghurt with honey though. While the staff work their arses off, they don't look very happy - but they were doing their job and still served us well. I would absolutely love to come back to this hotel it's a beautiful place and a great location.

Outstanding except for the room… and that’s probably our fault!!!

So… we are a family of four… Our room consisted of a room with a double bed, a sofa bed and a camper bed. We were all in the same room. There was not so much as a plate or knife and fork in the room should we want to even have a snack during the day, or some baklava when we got in at the end of the night… But maybe that’s our fault for booking that type of room… literally no privacy for any of us, other than when in the bathroom and nothing even dividing where the kids were sleeping from us oldies in the double bed… Our only other complaint was the the pool bar shut too early (9:30pm) and the ‘cocktail bar’ in the main reception was never open at any point during our stay… But other than that - it was a first class holiday. The location, the food, the views, the sunset and the excursions were a solid 9/10. We came away with our kids, who are pretty self sufficient on the whole - I wouldn’t recommend Santorini if your kids need water parks and long sandy beaches…. But if they are old enough to appreciate the sunsets, walking and soaking up some Greek culture then this place is heaven… We made friends with a couple called Darren and Lisa who were lovely - and the young lad who runs the pool bar (Nikos) might be the hardest working, most selfless member of staff we have even met on a family holiday. Other things to be aware of… watch some videos on YouTube giving advice of what you need to know before you go to Santorini. Water shoes are a must, and this place is bloody expensive…. Budget for €250 a day for a family of four…. AT LEAST!! And don’t come here if you are not prepared to tackle some serious hills! On the whole this was a tremendous holiday.

Our stay was good- but I can see why others wasn’t!

The majority of the reviews at this hotel are far too critical to reflect the very enjoyable stay we had here. Maybe we just got really lucky. I can definitely see where a lot of the comments come from- yes, it is true, people reserve the sunbeds. On its worst days, this means past 9AM if you havent been to the pool, you aren’t getting a bed for at least a couple of hours. On most days though, at 9AM there will still be a couple of beds left, albeit not the best ones. I would say about 33% of people (myself included) who get up at 7AM to reserve a sunbed, actually sit on them before 10AM, which leaves 2/3rds of the sunbeds reserved but unoccupied. It’s frustrating for many and causes a lot of hostility around the pool- at one point I seen a man lying next to a woman- a bit too close for comfort- who was alone telling her “off you pop” etc over getting his favourite sunbed. This culture of everyone looking over their shoulder round the pool seemed present throughout our stay. If, like us, you have no problem whatsoever with getting up early and sunbathing, the pool area is very good. The views are stunning, two minutes down the road you have stunning views of the caldera and the pool is a good size. I will however say, the pool does not have a lifeguard so is inappropriate for children, and for adults this also leads to ill-disciplined children splashing about and making the pool less relaxing. The pool bar is very nice although it is a bit annoying how fast they run out of draught beer, but I suppose supply chain issues are part and parcel of today’s world! What I don’t think is acceptable is a lack of accessibility precautions taken at the hotel. Whilst me and my partner are fortunate enough to be able-bodied, one of the elevators being completely out or service for the entire week would have rendered the pool area and majority of rooms inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues. The elevators are very dated as well so I would not be surprised if this was a common occurrence. Gym facilities are much better than most hotels, although I only used this once (leg day is pretty much hiking to Imerovigli and back). We struck gold with our room in the sense that- whilst it was based on an alley- we did gain a small sea view. The alley was quiet enough and so this really was not a problem, however some rooms have awful views of other room’s windows, or construction sites. Definitely not the “garden view” promised. Rooms are modern, tastefully decorated and very clean. You might want to bring your own hairdryer though as the one on offer is not good. Breakfast is pretty good- can imagine vegetarians would struggle though. The selling point of this hotel is honestly the location. Five minutes and you’re in the bustling markets of Thira, Firostefani’s sunset is a hidden gem that not many are willing to travel for but is actually better than Thira’s as well. Overall we loved the hotel given our luck with a pleasing room, and if offered the room again at the same price (£900 for our 7 night package holiday from Newcastle) we would definitely take it in a heartbeat. However, the prices have seemingly shot up. I wouldn’t say this stay is worth more than what we paid. But if you’re looking for value-for-money, I guess Santorini in general isn’t where you’ll find it. That being said, this was one of our favourite holidays and the hotel plays a huge part in that!
