Relaxing, chilled stay - served it’s purpose.

Very enjoyable stay Island hopping around the Cyclades and stopped off at Naxos. 3 night relaxing stay - clean and comfortable accommodation. Lay by the pool and also visited the long stretch of sandy beach. Good fun travelling inter island by ferry. Starting point Mykonos and final destination Santorini.

Chilled vibe - more shady areas required

We loved the vibe of this hotel right next to the kite surfing shop which also does lovely food and drinks. Our room had a curvy flint stones feel to it and the views and sunsets were stunning from our balcony. More storage in the bathroom is needed as this room is essentially a wet room and even the toilet and loo roll gets wet. Really comfy beds and room was refreshed daily. Staff are relaxed and friendly, breakfast was lovely. (Nut milk as an alternative to cows milk would have been good - only cows milk available) The seating areas are accessible all day and the hotel don’t mind at all if you bring in food from other places to eat (the souvlaki from Kontos across the road is worth a try & super cheap) The pool is lovely with comfortable enough sun loungers, no umbrellas are available but we found shade under the trees, it just meant we were moving our stuff around a lot. A few umbrellas would be useful. The beach is stunning and has much more room and less touristy than nearby Plaka but sunloungers and umbrellas are sparse. You will have to buy your own umbrella for shade. TIP ABOUT CAR HIRE - we asked the hotel about hiring a car and they best they could do was a basic car for 140 euros for one day or 240 euros for 2 days. We walked up to the car rental shop up the road (turn left from the hotel & walk up road for about 3 mins) and we got a car for 50 euros for 24 hrs. RECOMMENDATIONS - Victoria cafe is truly lovely, we went at sunset for pizza and it was the nicest pizza I’ve had in a long time. The view is beautiful, chilled music and great if you have little ones as there is a play park in the dunes. Chalki is a nice village to visit with some cute little shops and cafes. We had a crepe in cafe Grecco which was gorgeous We also visited the old derelict hotel in Alyko which has some amazing graffiti, there are some gorgeous little quiet beaches to swim in there too.

Home away from home

We stayed in Orkos Beach as a small group of friends and had the best time ever! The hotel is really pretty, with love for the detail, and super close to the kite beach which was the main reason to book in the beginning. But when we got here we totally fell in love with this place. The staff is super friendly and always happy to help, the breakfast is really nice and offering all that you need. And if you feel like food and drinks during the day or at night just go to Flisvos Kite Center next door: good vibes and a team that felt like family as soon as we visited for the first time. We will miss this place and will come back for sure!

Misbehaving loud kids + terrible internet = bad time.

Hotel staff was friendly. Room was clean and nice size. Had a very good massage in the spa. The experience at the pool was awful! Loads and loads of unsupervised screaming misbehaving children allowed to roam the pool disturbing many people. I had to police other unsupervised kids in the pool - hated it!! Not quiet, not relaxing, like a zoo. Hotel’s internet did not function! Extremely disappointing & very frustrating considering the room rate. We couldn’t fill in necessary online forms, we couldn’t make and confirm future bookings, we couldn’t send pics or check the news. We don’t need the Internet all day long, but we do need it for a few basic things in the evening when you expect to have it. Was truly horrible like the dark ages. We had to leave early because we were so disappointed. Nothing like a proper quiet cozy Greek vacation at all. Definitely cannot recommend.

The place to stay for kiting

We always like to be on the spot when kiting so that we don’t have to take a car to go kiting. This hotel is about a 50m walk from the upwind portion of the kiting beach. You can literally check out the kiting from your balcony. The staff is super friendly and helpful, there is a lovely spa. Nice breakfast although it is a bit long to get as they are avoiding buffets due to Covid. The Flisvos kite center and the restaurant which is located in the hotel are top notch.
