Oikein hyvä hotelli

Asuimme tässä hotellissa viime heinäkuussa First Choicen kautta. Emme tajunneet heidän käyttävän tätä hotellia vasta ensimmäistä kertaa, joten me olimme ainoat vieraat Britanniasta!

Perfect all inclusive experience!

We stayed in a sea view bungalow for one week in September, all inclusive, travelling with Tui. Upon arrival we were greeted by George, the Night Manager, who was extremely friendly and helpful and offered us snacks and refreshments as we arrived just after midnight. Sadly no vegetarian sandwiches but plenty of fruit which was great. During our stay we ate at Flavours, Thalasi and Alati and at Cucina (the Italian restaurant). We had poolside snacks a few times but again, no vegetarian sandwiches which was a shame. The breakfast and evening selections at the Flavours buffets were varied and delicious, with plenty of veggie options and things changed every day. Tonnes of tropical fruit and INCREDIBLE pastries and desserts! The staff, led by the wonderfully efficient George, are hard working and friendly. We really enjoyed the bbq lunches at Thalasa and Alati restaurant; beautiful fresh salads with various bbq and pizza options, plus desserts too. Our favourite meal of the week was our Italian table-service meal at Cucina, which was absolutely five star for taste, quality and presentation. Whoever the Italian chef is is a real credit to the hotel! Our bungalow was really spacious with beautiful views across the blue, calm sea to Turkey and across to Nisyros. The bed was really comfortable and the cleaner does a brilliant job every day, it was absolutely spotless! Thank you for the towel/flower folding too, we loved it! We chose to spend some of our days around the activity pool, partly because we had read the reviews about people reserving sunbeds from VERY early at the Thalasa pool, saw it happening and didn't want such a hassle on holiday. At the less-instagrammable activity pool the sunbeds (older but still very comfortable) were easily available, the bar staff were great and the vibe was relaxed and friendly. The beach towels are lovely and fluffy! What made the days extra special were the fabulous activities with Iulia, the fitness instructor, who did aqua gym, pilates/yoga and sports every day, recruiting guests with her infectious energy and smile! She makes everything fun! We tried pilates and yoga for the first time because of Iulia, doing 3 sessions under the shade of a tree overlooking the sea... bliss! The drinks menu from the main bar in the evenings is super, and the staff are great, especially the young man running up and down to serve us at The White Lounge. The evening entertainment was a little lacklustre some nights and the singers could have been a little more upbeat, however we really enjoyed the Greek night and Friday night too. The music doesnt go on too late so although you can hear it in your room, its peaceful again before midnight every night. There is a small mini supermarket on site which is reasonable priced, we bought some postcards and stamps but didn't need anything else because the hotel caters so well for all inclusive customers. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and we caught the bus to Kos Town (15 mins, 2 euros) and Thermes natural thermal springs (5 mins, 2 euros). There are mountain goats on the hills outside the hotel! There are several cats living within the hotel grounds and we were very pleased to see that they were well fed, had glossy coats, were all healthy and very friendly indeed. In contrast, the hundreds of street cats in Kos Town were not in such a healthy state. We paid for a late checkout on our last day as weren't being picked up until 19.30hrs; well worth the €90 as it meant we could fully relax and enjoy our last day like it was any other day. After a long 3 years without a 'sunshine holiday' (because of the pandemic), we couldn't have booked a better hotel and all inclusive experience than Dimitra Beach Resort. Nothing is too much trouble, the food and pool activity schedule are superb, everywhere is spotlessly clean and the grounds and views are stunning. Highly recommended, we will be back! Tip: there is an app where activities etc can be booked... hardly anyone seems to know about it or use it and we only found out on our last day. The details are on your check-in sheet with the WiFi code, worth downloading.

Such a relaxing holiday

It’s a beautiful, chilled out hotel. The scenes from your room, the pools and the bar are amazing. The junior suite was really big but could do with some updating. Especially as the pics look impeccable and it’s not so much in real life. Minor detail though. Staff were super friendly. Food was amazing! The Greek a la carte, wasn’t great but the main restaurant had a wide range and was always yummy! Had to get out at 9am on the dot if you wanted a sunbed around the pool but if you want a lay in, there was always space at the beach. Cocktails were really sweet but the rose always went down a treat. Overall a lovely hotel. Definitely recommend if you want a quiet chilled holiday - not the place if you want it lively in the evenings.

Another fabulous holiday

This was our 7th stay at Dimitra Beach and we enjoyed every minute of our holiday. Every member of staff was professional, friendly and welcoming. Hotel was clean and the grounds were amazing as per usual. The food was up it its usual high standards. Even the fussiest of eaters would not go hungry. A visit to the Greek and Italian restaurant is a must and you certainly won't be disappointed. Once again thank you ALL for another great holiday. See you in May 2023.

The holiday that blew us away

It’s our last day at this hotel and we fly back to the UK this evening…none of us wanted to leave. I travelled with my husband (ridiculously fussy eater) and my 9 year old son (who luckily doesn’t take after his father). After not having a holiday for 3 years due to covid and cancellations I just wanted somewhere we could relax and spend time together as a family. The flight times with Tui were awful, making us arrive at the hotel at about 2am. They had sandwiches fruit and drinks waiting for us and check in was quick and painless. I wasn’t expecting to pay a tax of €4 per night upon check in, but I’m guessing that was my mistake for not reading up properly. We had a bungalow with sea view and it was clean, spacious and had a fantastic walk in shower. Yea and coffee making facilities are in the room and replenished on a daily basis. The rooms had plenty of hanging space, great lighting, and contained a mini fridge and hair dryer. We had a super king sized bed and my son had a single, almost day bed looking thing to sleep on. Whilst it was comfy the mattress moved a lot and I was little scared of him falling off in the night onto the tiles floor. We moved the bed to join the side of ours and that worked for us. The maids visited daily and even made the beds together for us rather than put it back to where it was. If you like cats, there are about 6 strays that roam the resort and love a bit of attention (and food). Sometimes they wander into your room if you leave the door open but if you don’t pay them attention they will just ignore you. Whilst there my son had his 10th birthday. The restaurant knew this as they scan your passports upon arrival and will make a cake to be delivered to your room on the evening (they’re pretty delicious cakes too). We asked if it could be given in the restaurant for him and they were happy to that. For dinner that evening, the staff had decorated our table with balloons and petals for him and the staff sang happy birthday when they brought his cake out. It was amazing, he loved it! The main restaurant was amazing. Staff were always super helpful and there was plenty of choice to cater for any palette. We visited the a la carte restaurants too but we preferred the main restaurant as we’d gotten to know the staff. The resort itself is beautiful, extremely clean and the views are awesome. You can catch a bus into Kos town from the front of the hotel which takes 15 minutes and there is a supermarket on the hotel complex itself. We don’t normally holiday in Europe, but this experience has changed our minds. I couldn’t rate this hotel highly enough, we absolutely loved it…although we’re all rolling home a few pounds heavier because the desserts were something special. A massive thank you to all the staff at the hotel who made a fantastic holiday truly special. In particular, George, Alissa and the staff at Flavors restaurant who went above beyond for us. We will miss you all, but we will be back!
