Upea paikka, hotelli kaipaa kaikin puolin päivitystä
Tämä seitsmäs kerta täällä. Olen golffaaja;kenttä käsittämättömän hieno. Mutta hotellilla paljon uudistettava monessa mielessä. Huoneet kaipaavat päivitysä. Heidän ylläpitämä ns. tecina club ei toimi. Sieltä joutuu jatkuvasti peräämään itselleen kuuluvia etuja. Työntekijät eivät joko välitä tehdä töitään kunnolla tai eivät ymmärrä englantia.
Hotel, Surroundings, Facilities and Music at a higher level
This is truly a gem in the Atlantic. We stayed at one of the three story suites, which were just fantastic. Everything spotles and clean. Nice and friendly staff. Restaurants are plenty. Main restaurant is somewhat confusing with buffet, but take your time, and find the right table outside. Otherwise plenty of other places at the hotel, the beach or in the city. Plenty of activities to attend to. Almost like on a cruise - always something to do. Round the day off in company with Anne-Tina at the piano, and you are sure to be in good hands. Competent and friendly she will even play your favourites. We will surely go again. Jane & Carsten.
Paradise in the sun
We had a wonderful holiday at the Hotel Jardin Tecina in La Gomera, in the evening we went to the bar where a wonderful pianist Anne-Tina played for us, she was amazing, such a range of music she could play and she spoke to people and took requests. Amazing. All the staff were nice and helpful, thankyou.
Equivalent to a five star hotel.
If you are a person that enjoyes nature, relaxation and likes to be away from touristy places and partying tourists, this is the hotel for you! The hotel is definitely equivalent to a five star hotel. Our first impression was via telephone when our flight from Iceland to Tenerife got delayed because of a snow storm. Resulting in us missing our pre-booked ferry ride and the first night at the hotel. The hotel staff member we talked to was so nice and re-booked the ferry the next morning (free of charge) and said we didn't have to pay for the first night! We were expecting to have to pay for everything, or at least some fee, but were incredibly happy with the hotel's answer, since we did have to pay a last minute hotel in Tenerife for the first night because of the flight delay. Location The hotel is located on a spectacular cliff on the southern part of La Gomera, where I believe is more sunshine than in the north of the island. There is view of the sea at most parts of the hotel and a very cool elevator that takes you through the cliff and down to the beach below the cliff. Below the cliff is a small town which has such a chill and laid back vibe to it, beautiful little town. Rooms Our room had a sea view and was absolutely amazing. The bed was so comfortable, everything was clean and we were very happy with it. Food The food at the hotel is very good. We only had breakfast included since we were travelling on the island eathing lunch and sometimes dinner elsewhere. The breakfast is very good, and the restaurants are of high quality. We ate dinner once at the buffet which was good, but we were more happy with the restaurants. Just make sure to book the restaurants right away when you arrive. Facilities The swimming pools, pathways, flowers and everything around the hotel is so clean and well kept. We felt we were in paradise with all the flowers, butterflies and wonderful atmosphere. We stayed at a 4 star hotel in Tenerife at the end of our stay, which was so far off from being as nice as this hotel. I honestly think Hotel Jardin Tecina deserves five stars, compared to a lot of hotels I've stayed at before. It has this extra factor about it that not many other hotels have. We will be coming back soon :)
Great hotel despite irritating systems
This is a top class hotel, with numerous restaurants and reasonable sporting activities. We splashed out on suite that was really a small villa with a ground floor bedroom, first floor living room and a roof terrace. It was excellent. All the rooms appear to have sea views and I don't think there are any bad rooms. Wifi coverage throughout was the ebst I have expetienced in an hotel. The downside of this hotel is their infernal app through which you have to book everything. We were scolded on our first night when two hours after arriving we tried to eat at a restaurant without having booked it on the app. It is not user friendly nor very reliable. We had to get help from the front desk to sign in to it (Apparently you have to enter only the first three letters of your name, otherwise it rejects you!) It often indicated restaurants were full when they plainly were not not. On the Sunday evening we could not book any restaurant in the hotel. I have never before stayed at an hotel where as a resident I could not get dinner. We eventually got a table by begging a maitre de to fit us in. The result was that we tended to avoid the hotel restaurants and eat in the village. This aside we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
