Staff are so friendly. Exceptionally clean throughout. Nothing too much trouble. Felt so welcome. Food was amazing. Transfer time short. Turtle beach beautiful in 5 minutes walking distance. Highly recommend and will definitely return. Thank you

Honest constructive opinion, loved it.

We arrived at the Golden Sun to be greeted from the coach by the Porter. Check in was quick and easy, the friendly man on reception said our room wasn't ready yet, so showed us where we could get a drink while we waited. Within half an hour he came and showed us to our room, which was lovely and clean and very modern. We went for lunch then unpacked, the room had an open plan wardrobe with lots of hanging space and 2 massive drawers underneath. Big shelves under sink too, yes the sink is in the bedroom, plenty of space for toiletries etc. Shower room with big walk in shower and toilet. Balcony with glass looking onto garden and pool. Large pool area, with snack bar at the bottom with seating inside and out. Jacuzzi and children's splash pool. Music during the day. Usual 6am towel on sunbed brigade, which we did not partake in, shame as most beds gone by 8.30 while we were there. Garden area also with sunbeds. Seating and bar area at the top, the bar opened at about 6pm. Also had a pool table. Both bars had self service taps for beer etc, but other drinks served by barman. Indoor comfy bar area with TV also. The restaurant was very nice with hot dishes and lovely salad bar. Self service drinks. Drinks were good. There was a variety of food, loved the Greek choices, always something to pick. Unfortunately some of the food was a tad overcooked, which was a shame. Lovely flavours. Breakfast had a good selection, yes there was veg sometimes, but so what, dont eat them. I am going to be totally honest about the fried eggs, yes very rubbery, but the lovely chef has it in hand now. Scrambled eggs were delicious. We went to the beach a couple of times as no sunbeds around the pool, but the breeze , sea and view was well worth the rather steep 20 euros, within walking distance to go back for lunch too. We did the Turtle Tour and the Shipwreck with Blue Caves with Nefis Travel, brilliant. In summary, lovely hotel, lovely friendly staff. Big shout out to Mili and the Barman, John on reception and Ayman chef number 1. Will definitely return. Loved it.

Average hotel with warm rose wine yak

Rooms are nice with comfy beds and nice balcony free safe but no water on arrival in your room there is a kettle but no teas coffee or milk facilities rooms are kept clean with clean towels and clean bedding every day which was lovely The food was dissapointing for us no egg station in the morning I tried one egg-and was like eating rubber usually chef cooks eggs to your liking and omelettes food is Luke warm orange juice wasn’t fresh it was from a machine food was Luke warm we ate out most days on kalamaki strip at the olive tree and vintage steakhouse was delicious and the Pandesia is a must visit fantastic Greek night with fabulous food all inclusive drinks in hotel beer is ok Rose wine served in the bar was warm and at 30 degrees needs to be chilled also served all drinks outside bar in plastic cups My suggestion on the terrace outside bar serve in glass has most people enjoy a drink out of a glass I understand pool area plastic we definitely wasted our money staying all in clusive at The golden sun snacks was the worst I have seen chips come in the smallest plastic bowl however most staff was really friendly and helpful I would not visit this hotel again or recommend sorry

Some great bits

On arrival, as a couple, with walking sicks, a very kind member of staff helped us with our cases. Once we were shown to our room, was pleased to note it was low level and there was a very spacious shower room with a bar for the toilet and shower. The room was clean with a pleasant outlook over the pool. Having read the reviews was uncertain what to expect. The staff were well mannered and smiling. Also helpful. Our disappointment was although the buffet was plentiful, many times the food was not hot enough. The eggs at breakfast well, didn’t eat them after one try. Too dried up. The cheese was rather messed up as blue and feta, plus the plain one often only had one set of tongs. We found that the drinks included in the all inclusive were very poor in some respects and disliked the wastefulness of the disposable plastic cups. If visiting take a solid plastic cup. Overall would say that could not fault the staff, the cleanliness ,pool area. It would be good if there had been more entertainment, for example during the day, round the pool area.

Relaxing break for couples

This was our second visit to the hotel. Which confirms how much we enjoyed our first stay. It is in a great location and a few minutes and you are on the beach. Or a five-minute walk into town. The hotel is very friendly, food is fresh, beautiful salads daily with a mixture of traditional Greek food. The pool bar also does little snacks during the day. Our only disappointment this year was that they had removed the outside dining area, so all meals were in the very bright restaurant with little atmosphere. I prefer to sit outside as the previous area was shaded and had a more private feel to it. Recommend going to the main town, either by bus or the fun train. Also, a boat trip. Highly recommended.
