Rauhallinen hotelli

Siisti hotelli, mukavalla paikalla. Keskustaan ja rantaan hieman mäkimaastoista matkaa, mutta hotellilla oli kuljetuspalvelu. Aamupala oli hyvä ja monipuolinen. Saimme aamupalaboxin mukaan, kun oli aikainen lähtö retkelle.Henkilökunnalla oli asenne kohdillaan.

Hyvä hotelli ja loistava palvelu

Vierailimme hotellissa isolla perheellä ja jo vastaanotto hotellilla oli aivan mahtava. Parasta palvelua mitä olemme saaneet pitkään aikaan ja erittäin lapsiystävällinen paikka. Hotelli on vasta remontoitu ja on erittäin siisti (ei kulahtanut). Puolihoidolla illallinen tilattiin listalta, mikä oli lapsiperheelle vähän miinusta (=buffet helpompi) mutta muuten oikein hyvä. Sijainti ok, hotellilla omat kuljetukset keskustaan, mutta kävellen menee helposti. Suosittelen!

Hotelli Adams

Hotellin sijainti on hyvä, keskustaan kiva kävelymatka. Hotelli on erittäin siisti, uusi ja moderni. Ympäristö hoidettu hyvin. Aamupalabuffet oli kreikkalaisittain erittäin runsas. Isäntäpariskunta hääräili aamusta iltaan saakka ja muukin henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja huomaavaista. Isona plussana oli ilmainen kuljetus keskustaan ja takaisin kuusi kertaa päivässä. Huone oli tosi siisti, valoisa ja uusi. Parveke oli kooltaan tosi iso. Parvekkeet oli rakennettu niin, että viereiseen ei nähnyt eli jokaisella oli oma rauha. Hotellia voi suositella erittäin lämpimästi!

Mainly good hotel

My partner and I recently spent 1 week at The Adams Hotel, Parga. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who promptly showed us to our room on the 2nd floor. The room was big, comfortable, well appointed, spotlessly clean with a big private terrace, with a nice view and exceptionally quiet. We were on a bed and breakfast basis, and I must say that the cold food, although maybe somewhat repetitive, was always very fresh and tasty with lovely homemade jams too. Unfortunately though the hot food was not hot at all! We only ate in the Olive Tree restaurant on one occasion, and found the food to be just mediocre. This is a shame, as they could do so much better, as the restaurant is in a lovely setting, but there was no atmosphere whatsoever, as so few people dining. Surely this must tell the establishment that something needs doing to entice guests into dining in their onsite restaurant. Sadly, we had to venture a little further down the hill, where we found excellent tavernas at very reasonable prices too! Back now to the hotel staff, who we found to be all so polite and friendly. The housekeeping I must say was second to none, and the bed linen and towels were changed almost daily. The receptionist was lovely and always most helpful with any concern or query we had. I also had a wonderful full body massage in the spa during my stay by the lovely therapist. The garden area of the hotel was very pretty and well maintained, and the pool area was relaxing and quiet, apart from the main road running along outside. However don’t be put off by this, as it wasn’t at all noisy. All in all the hotel was mainly good, but the most negative point for us was the location. When we first booked The Adams hotel, it stated that there was a shuttle bus running fairly regularly down to the harbour. As I have very limited mobility, we thought this would be perfect, but sadly we found out that this shuttle bus no longer operated, so the only way down to Parga harbour (which was almost a mile down a steep hill) was to walk, or get a taxi, but unfortunately taxis were not easy to come by. So to end my review we will not be staying at The Adams hotel again. For anyone fit and active I would recommend the hotel, but only for Bed and Breakfast!!

Don't book half board

This was our 3rd holiday in a junior suite with half board to this hotel (2016 and 2018) but definitely our last. The first two occasions were superb and so we were naturally expecting the same again for our 14 night stay but sorry to say we were hugely disappointed. What was once a 4 star family run hotel with a restaurant that was one of the best in Parga is sadly no more. It’s always best to start with the positives and this will be quick. The rooms are clean, the bed comfortable, and the towels and bed linen are changed regularly. Rooms are air conditioned and a safety deposit box is included in the price. It would be nice if complimentary tea and coffee and maybe also a small bottle of water is provided especially for late arrivals. Now the not so good!! The hotel is definitely in need of some TLC. The white paint is peeling badly on the exterior of the hotel and furniture was missing from our room which was a junior suite. Apparently if it’s broken they don’t fix or replace unless you complain. Some of the pool side chairs also now look past their best but the pool is fine and there are some shady areas As we had booked half board, at a cost of £560, it was annoying and disappointing that the Olive Tree restaurant was only open for breakfast, despite the hotel being full. The evening meals were being served in the pool side bar. The excuse was Covid , then the heat, and that people just preferred to eat in the bar! After speaking to the co- owner the restaurant was eventually opened mid-week of our holiday. I’m sure the real reason for not opening was a cut back on staff and lack of numbers who ate meals in the hotel, the bar staff were also the waiters. Sometimes the now open restaurant had on a good night 4 or 5 diners and occasionally none at all. This was due to lack of atmosphere and the high menu prices, for diners not on half board. The menu consists mostly of grilled meats with chips or rice that were ok but repetitive especially on a 2 week break. The traditional food on offer is microwaved, inconsistent and poorly presented and not particularly hot or enjoyable. The appetizers were ok and we just had a selection of these on occasions. No freshly prepared food here, other than omelets or chips. Potatoes, vegetables and fruit are non-existent. Desserts were not offered from the menu and when asked for it was just a scoop of ice cream or a wedge of dry cake, again with no presentation. The leaflet in reception advertising the restaurant was once accurate but is now far from reality. Freshly prepared, high quality, and cheaper food with a good holiday atmosphere is available at the Perivoli restaurant a 10 minute walk away. We ate here a few times so paid twice for our evening meal, really not happy about that but better than staying at the hotel with no atmosphere, poor food and expensive bar prices. Other excellent restaurants are just a little further away. Jet 2 for some reason are now not offering the option of half board and TUI should also do the same. The bar staff/ waiters look bored; probably due to lack of people, and do not engage with guests as they should. The cleaners however are very pleasant and smiley. Guests on bed and breakfast fair better. Breakfast was satisfactory for us as we only ate yoghurt and toast, so can’t comment on the rest. Not pleased however with the flies on the pastries and croissants which we avoided and these should be covered. Birds and cats are also a problem in the restaurant and I even saw cats coming from the kitchen. The hotel has lost its family owned appeal which it once had in abundance and now has a corporate feel about it - definitely not ‘Small & friendly’. When settling the bill on leaving the receptionist did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay, or even have a pleasant journey, just ‘enter your pin number’. Where did it all go wrong? The hotel is now a 3 star Greek standard at best; all guests we spoke to would not return which is really sad considering how good this hotel was in the past. Maybe some effort should be made to retain guests in the evening with perhaps occasional live music, Home cooked food and cheaper prices. No one likes an empty bar and restaurant on holiday, and even a threatening thunder storm one evening could not tempt guests to stay! A courtesy bus is also advertised on both TUI and the hotel’s web sites but is no longer available, and although we did not need it some guests do find it useful especially as the walk to Parga beach is around 15 to 20 minutes and the same back uphill. We did not use the Gym or Spa. We had a good holiday in Parga but would definitely not return to this hotel or recommend it.
