A very negative experience
A very negative experience. Despite the fact that we informed Santa Mauro when we would arrive, no one was waiting for us, we did not receive any instructions about entering the room. The TV did not work, the room was not cleaned every day, there is noise, poor sound insulation, wifi does not work on the connection that is indicated. The pool was dirty, the pool bar was closed, and the yogurt bar was also closed. When we had already paid everything, they wanted to take money from our account again. The manager, whom we saw only last morning, was very arrogant. All in all, a very negative experience
CANCEL OUR RESERVATION THAT DAY WE WERE ABOUT TO ARRIVE
Never choose that place. They cancelled our booking cause some wanted to stay longer!! That’s unacceptable. They took our money and they ask us to search for an other hotel. Unprofessional and ridiculous behaviour. I don’t recommend to anyone!!!
Nice apartments in the center
We visited the hotel in July. We stayed for 14 days and had a really nice time. There is only a handful of accommodations at the centre and this is the only one that it is central and at the same time right next to the beach (only 50 meters). The pool area is a small oasis in the heart of Nydri. The rooms are very well insulated so although we stayed at the street side the noisy bars around were not a problem. If someone prefers to sleep with open corridors should definitely ask for the pool side. The private parking was also very helpful. Cleaning was done everyday and every third day they had the sheets and towels changed. The frozen yogurt cafe had nice cold coffee and the frozen yogurt tasted like real yogurt (very rare).
SUB STANDARD TO SAY THE LEAST
Having stayed recently for two weeks we would definitely NOT recommend these apartments at all. Totally SUB standard and we cannot believe the printed brochure you are given and the 'A' board outside stating 'Luxury' Accommodation. Nothing could be further from the truth! Outside appearance looks good apart from the cafe area, which looks like it has not been cleaned for weeks, fingermarks over all the bi fold doors and ice cream fridge, if you can call it that! Never seen such uninviting ice cream, ever. Reception Area OK, leading to pool area, which on first impressions looks nice but the pool turned green for 4 days in our second week and we could not use it, advised by reception not too. It appears the 'Owners' snook in undercover at midnight and tried in vain to try to rectify the problem to no avail, so consequentially the next evening along came a professional pool cleaning company to put things right. The 16 sun loungers made of wood are badly in need of a coat of protective varnish, that is all they would need to bring them up to standard. A gardener is certainly needed to trim the palm trees and out of control climbers, so unnecessary. It is a staffing problem on behalf of management because the lady who cleans the rooms, hoses the pool area down each morning. What this establishment needs is a maintenance man. As for the rooms.....it gets a lot worse. Must say, very comfy bed, good size room, nice clean linen and towels every other day, but it stops there. We had a broken very badly rusted fridge, horrendous. We had to lift the door up to close it and then use your foot to actually shut the bottom of it. The door would only half open anyway making it almost inaccessible. We told reception about this on our first morning. We were given a bottle of wine and a letter of apology whilst management sorted something out. Its as though they did not know we were due to arrive! They actually knew how bad this fridge was. The toilet leaked water half way across the bathroom floor on a daily basis. This was also reported to the male receptionist on day two. As for the grouting in the bathroom, one would enter feeling in need of a shower and come out feeling dirty to be honest. The whole area was in need of new grout and re-tiling. It was disgusting. A panel on the wall was held up with black gaffer tape, all it needed was a screw! After two weeks of complaining, and let me stress, this is not in our makeup, on our very last day, with cases all packed, a plumber came to repair the leaking toilet and Four Brand New Zannusi Fridges were delivered to this establishment! Amazing coincidence one thinks. We smelt a rat on arriving actually as the room we had booked in September 2021 stated 2nd floor, pool side, we had this in writing on the print out, but on arrival we were given a 1st floor room, pool side. When we asked about this reception said there had been a change around, and this was now our room. OK we thought, but someone was in the 2nd floor room, pool side so we feel they actually rejected this 1st floor room, and we're given the one actually reserved for us before we arrived. The safe was also only accessible with a key, we could not put in a code. One lady in particular on reception was very nice and helpful, we actually felt sorry for her, and we believe it was totally down to her that we were eventually given a 98euro refund back to our card. We certainly would never return or recommend this place to anyone and if we can take this further with the Greek Tourism Board then we will. Places like this should not be allowed to falsely advertise sub standard accommodation, that genuine people have saved hard earned cash to visit.
good place
it is central, placed in the heart of nidri, on the pedestrian central street. clean rooms, good servise, good brekfast down at the cafe. we had rooms overviewing the street, ask for it is great to watch people walking. down site of it the chimney from the tavernas across the street, smelling bad and making breathing a bit uncomfortable.parking available if you hire a car, really helpfull while there is no parking around. the swimming pool also always clean and the girl at the reception always smilling and ready to help:)
