Lovely Hotel.
This was our 2nd time at this hotel which has undergone total renovation since our last stay .The staff were all amazing and always greeted you with a smile . Special thanks to Joe , Vivi and Bob who looked after us at the restaurant they are a credit to the hotel. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and must say that the choice at breakfast was fantastic. Our room was lovely and the bed and pillows so comfortable. The hotels app was brilliant and so easy to use,we used it daily to keep our room topped up with bottles of water ,coffee, etc. The hotel and grounds were kept immaculate by the staff at all times We loved the fire show and also the duo that regularly sang during the evening . I do think that the hotel has lost a little of its authentic tranquil Thai atmosphere since renovation, possibly down to the AI package, attracting some disrespectful loud guests who ignore the rules that the hotel has thoughtfully put in place . Overall, this is a lovely hotel in a great location ...well worth a visit .
Relaxed luxury
Day 2 of 9 and husband and I have decided we live here now. We would normally stay at The Waters but we are celebrating our 25th anniversary so wanted the beachfront views and little extra luxuries and so far are not disappointed. First trip back to Thailand since COVID and the people are as warm and friendly as ever. Resort is fantastic. Restaurant reasonably priced given location. It will be hard come check out day to have to leave.
One of the best I’ve stayed at
I’m staying here for only 3 nights but could stay for a lot longer easily. Lovely staff, super friendly, and this is a 5 star place. Prices kinda reflect that for a swim out room beachfront but still worth it I think. Rooms are maintained very well and a good size. Love it here.
Beautiful hotel & amazing staff!
What a wonderful hotel! Lek and will at the pool bar are just fantastic and always so so helpful & friendly! The overal hotel is just perfect, the food, the service EVERYTHING! Beds and pillows SO comfy!! Opt for a seaside swim up room they are fab! We have room 3815 We are already planning on coming back next year and we haven’t left this hotel yet we leave on the 22nd but just had to write this review as it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Thailand! Local to all local restaurants and shops and the market! There is only ONE thing I’m a bit dissapointed with.. if you want a decent sunbed around the pool be prepared to get up for 6.30am every morning to get a decent bed! Anything later you don’t have a chance. If you do get up later then the beach beds usually still have some available. When I come away on holiday I want to get up freely not by alarms and unfortunately we have had to do that whilst here :-( Would we come again? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Sadly No Longer for us
We stayed at the La Flora in November 2022 but will not be staying when we return to Bang Niang in April 2023 and it is with some regret that I write this review. The La Flora was one of our favourite hotels in Khao Lak and we were repeat guests before the renovation and were looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, for us, the renovation has spoilt the adult themed and Thai character of the hotel. Gone are the lovely garden and beach bungalows, replaced by a larger pool and more sun beds and the ground floor rooms of the original beach facing accommodation blocks have been converted into pool access rooms. The pool, whilst larger has ill thought out access. To get into the pool you either have to push through unmoving all day drinkers at the pool bar or walk through outside diners at the Sire Restaurant. There were inconsiderate guests wandering around the pool with glass bottles of beer. One was dropped and smashed when we were there. The new beach facing pool access rooms’ offer little privacy and I have read several comments concerning this. Privacy has become an issue at the hotel. Five new accommodation blocks have been built at the rear of the hotel. This has made what was already a busy hotel on a small plot very overcrowded. It still calls itself a resort hotel which is stretching it somewhat. Ground floor rooms are in plain sight of guests traversing to and from these rooms. We stayed in the original Poolside wing, in a pool access room. Very little renovation appeared to have been done and the rooms looked the same as they did in 2012. They were well maintained and decorated but far too much paraphernalia had been crammed onto the desktop area. Electrics in the room had not been updated to provide international sockets or USB points. The room, in block P2, was opposite the gym and we had to keep the blinds partially closed to maintain privacy. The room’s decking was also in full view of people walking to their rooms at the back of the hotel, who could have walked along the main pathway at the back of our room. The noise from the Regina pool bar was also quite loud during the happy hours. Breakfast at the Sire Restaurant was good but nowhere near as good as it used to be pre renovation when it was excellent. Breakfast sausages were dire, Thai options are available, but no fried rice. It also lacks ambiance as an evening meal venue, there are far better options outside the hotel. The hotel is still a high class hotel and is very well maintained, Staff, as always were excellent and made us feel very welcome. A minor issue with the WC was fixed within the hour. We also received a very nice surprise on our wedding anniversary. However management appear to have sold its soul to the package holiday market and it could be a package hotel anywhere in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean. If you are a hotel centric person it could be for you. Day time activities in the hotel seem to revolve around the pool bars and happy hours. Basically given the high cost of the room we did not get VFM or a real Thai experience anymore, sadly.
