Hyvä kokemus

Neljä tähteä vastaa täällä ehkä kolmea Suomessa. Siistit economy huoneet. Ystävällinen palvelu. Erinomainen huonesiivous. Aamiainen aivan huippua kuohuviineineen ja munakkaan paistajineen. Saunaosasto tosi nuhruinen. Pukuhuone lähinnä vitsi. Erittäin epäkäytännöllinen. Sisäallas siisti ja lämmin. Saksalaisia ja brittejä vieraina. Sakut eivät ymmärrä käydä peseytymässä ennen altaaseen tuloa.

Another great golfing break

Love staying here. Even better after the refurbishment. Always a great value Golf break. Staff are friendly, attentive and nice atmosphere. Handy for the beach and the boardwalk to walk into town. Taxis park across the road if you don’t fancy the walk

Beauty spot in the Algarve.

Wonderful hotel. The grounds are pleasant including the pool, sunbeds, trees for shade, crazy golf and a giant chess set. The deluxe sea view room is devine. ( lt is worth taking your own kettle if you enjoy a cuppa on the balcony) .The beach is a 2 mins walk. The boardwalk takes you into town passing restaurants on your way . l work in the tour and travel industry and would recommend this hotel. l will be going again.

We stayed at this hotel for 17 nights over Christmas & New year's Our room was brilliant 2007, side sea view with possibly the biggest balcony at the hotel. We stayed bed & breakfast and the breakfast was really good as well as the coffee (bean to cup) The staff were very helpful especially the your lad joao, the morocco lad and alina The hotel is situated on the beach with easy rear access with lovely walks to alvor center along the boardwalk which takes about 25 minutes or roadside about 15/20 minutes The indoor pool was great, for me the temperature was fine but for alot of people it was too cold, The only thing they should maybe adopt is more regular entertainment, because when they did have entertainment more people stayed at the bar and watched it, so surely it pays for itself But overall for what we paid for 17 nights bed & breakfast was brilliant, alvor itself is lovely safe & welcoming Obrigado

Traumatizing experience on New Year’s Eve

Our check out occurred on Jan 1st , 2023, after a stay of 6 nights at Pestana Hotel Dom João II, of 2 adults and 2 children (4 years and 16 years). In addition to the stay, we purchased wristbands that gave us access to enjoy the New Year's Eve party, worth 630 euros. For the price, we had high expectations. At the entrance to the lobby, the waiter seated us at a table that is located on a raised floor, compared with the floor level, in a table with sofa and chairs on opposite sides. On the table, there were New Year's Eve props and my 4-year-old daughter, when putting one of them on her head, the tiara, fell behind the sofa. At that moment, instinctively, she leaned over to pick it up and to our despair, we discovered with her free fall helplessly, that the white curtain disguised and hid a space behind the sofa that it was possible to pass the body of a child and at a height probably equal to or greater than 2 meters. Attached are photos of the location. A poorly finished construction, there were electrical wires, screws, completely unsafe conditions in case of a fall. All the families at the 3 nearby tables were in shock as they watched the fall and our desperation climb on the couch and lean over to pull her by the arms in an attempt to bring her back to the surface of the couch without hurting her even more. The other guests called two hotel employees to report what had happened, ask for help and warn them of the danger of that deep gap behind the sofa. Children should never sit there and there should be signs signaling the risk and barriers that prevent the fall. An insecure party that did not deserve the investment we made. This accident spoiled our new year's eve, we immediately abandoned dinner and live music, we went to the room at around 22:00 pm, to check on our daughter's condition, check for bruises, scratches and calm her down, try to get her to say what she was feeling. I imagine it was also frightening for the other guests who watched the scene. They all came to give us help and comfort. We were emotionally fragile and insecure if our daughter would be okay. On the next day, during breakfast, we realized that there were another child, probably same age, standing on the same couch, running back and forth, no adult beside her, just her mother in the chair across from her on her opposite side, with a table separating them. In case of a fall, again a child would fall helplessly. No hotel employee prevented a new accident from being avoided. I personally went to alert the family about what had happened to us the night before, and that was the only way they realized the existing hole and the risk. We hope to hear from the hotel that children will no longer be injured in that location and that something will be done immediately about it. We reported the incident to the waiters, concierge, we sent email and answered the satisfaction survey and until now the hotel representatives has never returned to us. Still about our stay, for / during the first 4 days, there were a lot of ants in the bathroom of room 133, crawling on our toothbrushes, probably because they were seeking the baby toothpaste that is sweet, and on the floor, it was disgusting, we informed the reception that on Dec 31st the indoor pool´s water was super cold and there was a written complaint on the SPA counter that the sauna didn't go over 50º either, the breakfast queue on Jan 1st was huge and time consuming, the maids are extremely noisy in the morning, they slam doors loudly, they are loud, they enter the room at the same moment they knock on the door not giving us a moment of response, waking our 4 year old daughter, and there is no blackout on the curtains in the rooms that make it difficult to sleep longer in the morning. We made a reservation for connecting rooms and when checking in, the concierge informed us that the room were not connecting, but one next to the other. We insisted that it was a requirement for our reservation, he replied he was new on the job and he didn’t know, and that we could confirm when we got the the room. This caused some stress and anxiety after traveling 6 hours by car and string at midnight. There was no double bed. Only 2 single beds and we had to sleep with the hole between us. The algarve climate, the location and friendliness of the rest of the staff are without a doubt the charm of the hotel. Respectfully yours, Pinho Family. Rooms 133 and 135 from Dec 26 to Jan 1st.
