Stayed at this hotel for 10 days from 20 sept 19. Was given an amazing room at the front of the hotel with a balcony overlooking the sea and marina. Was nice sitting out on balcony at night watching the world go by with glass of wine from mini bar. Room was well equiped with kettle tea and coffee, safe and mini bar with prices which were very reasonable and which was restocked everyday. Had a bath with shower and toiletries were provided which was a nice touch, also had a hairdryer. Plenty of storage space. Fixtures in room were of a high standard. Room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. Ate in restaurant a couple of times in the evening. Food was really good with lot of local dishes. Big portions and piping hot. Restaurant staff were very attentive and explained what was in the dishes. A meal for 2 with wine was about £45 . Had a drink in the bar every day, prices were cheaper than most of the places nearby. Good selection of drinks from beers to gins and cocktails. It was a nice area on the terrace to sit and pass the time with a couple of drinks. Every member of staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Maria and Marina promptly dealt with a few issues we had like locking ourselves out of safe lol they made us laugh everyday. Absolutely fabulous hotel would definately recommend this hotel and I will certainly be back.
A marvellous hotel
My wife and stayed in room 403 for a week, enjoying the marvellous facilities and wonderful views from our large balcony. The hotel was renovated in 2017, and is modern and stylish with fabulous lighting throughout. The room was exceptionally comfortable, with the only minor quibble being the absence of suitable storage for dresses. We used the stylish indoor wellness centre/pool daily. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and during our stay used both the buffet and a la carte dining options. The food in the dinner buffet was really good, with a wide range of options: all our selections were really well cooked and very, very tasty. More could be done to differentiate the dinner experience from breakfast (candles/glasses/linens) but the food was the star. I have posted a separate restaurant review. Finally I want to recognise all the hotel staff who helped make our stay enjoyable and memorable. I am grateful to the duty manager who resolved an issue in a way that clearly demonstrated his and the hotel’s commitment to excellence and customer service. Thanks also to the receptionists (main and wellness centre) who were enormously helpful and supportive when my wife fell ill in the last few hours of our holiday as we awaited transfer to the airport.
Excellent, best in town
Spent 4 nights at Grand Hotel Slavia at the end of September – what a great hotel. Definitely looked to be the most chic and smartest hotel in Baska Voda and facilities and comfort-wise, it did not disappoint. We were upgraded on arrival to a Superior room (and an early check in too) which was a really great surprise – the room was spacious, quiet and had a great top floor view from the balcony (north facing) of both the sea and the mountains. The bed was so comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. Facilities in the room itself were all there – mini fridge (that stayed cold even when the room was unoccupied), kettle, safe, great hairdryer, superb wifi, air con and lots of TV channels (though English channels were severely limited to news). The only weird things we found were that there were no hooks to hang towels, not even one! And the air con regulated itself by switching itself on and off which was noisy and frustrating if you are trying to sleep. There is a really nice, smart bar out the front of the hotel with fantastic views of the sunset plus a spa, large, long, indoor pool and fitness room though we never used these facilities. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a bright and airy room or terrace. Yes there are queues for the coffee machine but what’s a few mins wait on holiday?! Note, they do not have English Breakfast tea in the restaurant but there is a good supermarket a few doors up which sells it 😊 Location-wise, the hotel is right on the beach which is right next to the marina, but you can walk 5 mins to the left and there are plenty of almost deserted beaches with crystal clear water and little beach bars for lunch (facilities at the beach are great btw). The hotel is right in the centre of town (which admittedly is very small) but next to some great restaurants and the church which was always active. The hotel was pristine clean and the staff very very good and efficient. I would 100% return to Baska Voda and to stay at Grand Hotel Slavia.
Last time we stayed at Baska Voda in 2016 this hotel was undergoing a complete refurbishment. it is now a top class hotel with amazing lighting and very modern. We had a standard room facing the back of the hotel. This wasn't a problem but if we visited again we would prefer a room with a balcony. We were happy with the breakfasts and evening meals. We would have preferred an outdoor pool but the beach was only across the road. Would we stay there again - yes definitely.
Lovely hotel in a great location
We came as a group of five and had a fabulous week in Baska Voda what a lovely little resort everything we were looking for. A pretty tree lined promenade with a nice beach albeit stony, (all along this coast) this was no problem at all for us actually liked not having all the sand getting everywhere! Calm sea great for all ages to swim in or bob about on a lilo , a small harbour where you could go out on boat trips to the Croatian Islands of Hvar, Brac etc. Lots of great restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, some nice little bars also several down on the beach. Several shops, selling your usual holiday bits, but also some lovely clothes shops selling great reasonably priced linen clothes. We stayed BB had a side view room, which was comfortable, spacious and clean with a nice modern bathroom, we could see the Biokovo mountains and beach if you popped your head out of the window, ha ha, I would imagine the balcony rooms on the front would have fantastic views especially with the beautiful sunsets. Good breakfast, hot and cold with the usual fruits, yogurts, fresh breads, cakes etc, never left hungry. We eat in the hotel restaurant Del Posto twice was fantastic food, they even made a cake for my friends Birthday, lovely restaurant with attentive staff. Andrea on reception was absolutely lovely, always smiling and very helpful answering all my questions, a real asset to the hotel. Fabulous indoor pool and spa. If I ever return to Baska Voda I would most likely to return to this hotel, perfectly positioned for everything, we were more than happy, a lovely hotel and resort.
