Sijainti meren rannalla, mahtava aamupala siivous jokapäivä ja pyyhkeiden vaihto, myös rantatuoleihin pyyhkeet, lyhyt matka bussipysäkille.

Sijainti meren rannalla, rauhallinen sijainti, lukuunottamatta läheistä katua, rauhallinen asiakaskunta. Ystävällinen ja avulias henkilökunta. Kiva allasalue ja -baari.

Kylpyhuoneet voisi remontoida, suihku ahdas isolle miehelle.

Nice hotel run by an idiot

Nice hotel, next to the sea, rooms ok, breakfast good, not a great location as nothing nearby apart from a few tavernas, really need to travel to the next towns, which are quite away away, had a good holiday here except from when approx 20 young polish decended on the hotel, shouting screaming having sex and just being animals, the hotel owner at the time said “what’s the problem” what you have to understand is this hotel is I run by two brothers, one is really quite professional and polite ( has a beard) the other is an incompetent idiot who is Greece’s answer to Bob Marley, such a shame, he really lets the side down, he needs to be bought out and sent on his way.

Decent choice with nice beach

Stayed for a fortnight on a package deal. First impressions were not great: tired after a long journey, we were greeted in perfunctory style and given directions to the room via a rather dirty lift. We discovered that the safe was locked, and fridge and aircon did not seem to be working. Man behind reception did slightly grudgingly come and sort everything out. The hotel was not busy at the time so I'm sure he could have spared 3 minutes away from the desk to do what he ended up doing anyway. (They later told us that this is because they only have one receptionist on duty at any time.) Subsequently, we had a very nice time here. The hotel front is very attractive with a nice pool and great views with its own private beach (don't worry about the sea urchins: I only spotted two in our time there). The bar serves snacks and sandwiches which we found perfectly adequate, and the service was pleasant. Our room was quite comfortable but at the back of the hotel with a tree directly outside (behind that a petrol station on the main road; no mountain view) so do ask for a poolside room as it is worth a premium (great view and quieter). The room cleaners were absolutely lovely - bravo. The bathroom was better than some other 3* Greek hotels; everything worked. The hotel was full but it was easy to get seats under a shade on the grass by the beach. Hotel location means that you can walk to 6-7 tavernas within 10 minutes along the seafront, but the smaller restaurants do fill up so book the smaller ones to avoid disappointment. You can also walk to a nearby salt lagoon with herons, egrets and fish, within 20 minutes. If you are very energetic, you can walk to Lefkas Town in 70 minutes, but there is a bus service. Overall, this was a good value 3* hotel that I would book again. Some more attention to greeting guests would make things even better.

Hotel review

We've just returned from our vacation in Greece. I will write exclusively about the hotel. As someone wrote, it's a 70's hotel. We travelled with our child, 12 years old. We were assured that we will have a room for 3 guests, but no. The rooms are only for two guests. An extra bed was in the room which shrinked a lot the space. The wardrobe was old and kind of smelly. The bathroom is way too small and smelled strange. The door didn't close well and every day, when the room was cleaned, they didn't close the door with the key. The breakfast was the same every day. Except the coffee, there was nothing cooked, only boilled eggs. From this point of view, I didn't mind as I ate mostly yoghourt. The pool furniture is also old. Overall, our stay was ok-ish thanks to the pool and the sea which is very close. But the hotel needs badly improvements.

Inbetween the pool and the sea

Lovely place. Breakfast by the pool everyday with the sea just a little further. Breakfast was very good, great yogurt, fruit, honey, nuts. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Beach is stoney so you need water shoes to get into sea. Rooms a little small with very small showers that flood the bathroom. Apart from that the staff will do anything to help you, they were amazing! Lots of great seafood restaurants nearby. I would stay here again :)

Great holiday!

We have just returned from 2 weeks in mid-July, staying at the Porto Ligia Hotel. It was our first visit to Lefkada. We paid extra for a room with a sea view (worth doing). The outlook from the hotel is beautiful and calm. You can sit at breakfast looking out over the pool, the lawn, the sea and the landscape beyond. Sailing boats drift by, gently giving constant change to the outlook. Sunbeds (free of charge) always seem to be available on the lawn and by the pool. The breakfast is self-service from a very wide range of cold foods. Very good. The hotel staff are very friendly. Bed sheets are changed almost daily. Hotel towels are available on request from the front desk, free of charge, for the pool and sunbeds. We had dinner each day at several waterside tavernas and are very happy to recommend them all. Kanouria is probably the best and offers a marvellous Beef Stifado. The nearby Seven Islands has tables on the pebble beach, a great setting. Both allow beautiful views across the bay and are very popular. They are about 12 minutes' walk from the hotel. Makis is on a quayside nearer to the hotel and is slightly cheaper (and offers an excellent sea bass amongst other things!). Closer still to the hotel is Sto Limani, on the edge of a quayside car park, but with a couple of tables overlooking the bay; it is a more typical local Greek taverna with a more limited menu and again is slightly cheaper. We bought a medium-sized pizza at Giorgio's Pizzaria, which was excellent and enormous (and they do sell a still bigger one!), which we took down to the water's edge to eat. We travelled with TUI and took three of their trips. The Greek Night on the neighbouring island of Meganisi was excellent and good value: boat trip both ways, large and good Greek meal, wine and other drinks included in the price, Greek dancing demonstrated and then involving everyone (from many European nations). Great fun. The Islands Tour took us to Meganisi, then to a Greek mainland beach for swimming and for a large barbecue lunch, boat trips around various islands with swim stops. Good commentary by the guide, Joanna (who also demonstrated the Greek dancing at the Greek Night above). A very enjoyable day out. A coach trip took us through the island's Southern interior (very mountainous and beautiful) to one of Greece's most famous beaches at Porto Katsiki. A pebble beach, set one hundred steps down from the cliff top, looks out over fabulous turquoise-blue waters with strong waves at the water's edge. Sunbeds are available on the beach (but we were stunned to be charged 20 euros for 2 beds and a sunshade! We could only be there for about 2 hours before the journey home. You can always lie on the pebble beach for free and there is a further part of the long beach which is shadowed by the cliff, which overcomes the need for a sunshade!). Whilst a few food vendors wander along the beach, it is wise to take food with you or to buy it at the cliff top before descending the 100 steps. We would be very happy to come back here to Porto Ligia again and had a great holiday.
