Mukava huoneistohotelli rauhallisella sivukadulla

Kostas& Sofies on rauhallisella sivukadulla oleva siisti huoneistohotelli.

Very Nice vacation

Most important ,very Nice pool and places to chill out and drink a beer which you can buy at the bar. The rooms are simple but we did not need anything more. Also clean and nice staff. The location is very very close to the boulevard with all the bars and restaurants.

Fairly basic accommodation, but it's in a great location

There are 2 low-rise adjoining blocks here. The newer-looking one is built round a swimming pool. Our room was in the older-looking block, on the first floor and to the side, overlooking an overgrown garden with the mountains behind. This was nice, as in the mornings we sat on the shady balcony and watched the birds and butterflies among the flowers. (There was no sun on the balcony till about 5p.m.) Our room was a reasonable size. It could have done with a second bedside cabinet, and a drawer under the dressing table. But the wardrobe was a decent size. There were 3 power points. The kitchenette area was cramped – to prepare food, you’d have to use the draining board or dressing table, as there was no other space. The fridge was a bit worn-looking. There was also a TV, which we didn’t use. The bathroom was fine. It had a good-sized walk-in shower. There were no toiletries and no hairdryer. Air-con in the room cost €6 a night, which was worth it, as it was so hot and humid. Both the bins in the studio were emptied daily. Halfway through the week, I asked the maid for clean towels, which she happily provided, and she changed the sheets at the same time. I don’t know if changes are made automatically if you don’t ask. Wi-fi in the room was very poor, presumably because we weren’t close to reception. It was better in the public areas, e.g. in the area round the staircase (where tables and chairs were set out) and in the pool bar. We didn’t use the pool, though we did have a drink at the bar. It was €3 for a 33cl bottle of beer (Mythos), the same as in most local bars. On the last day, our transfer wasn’t due till 5p.m. We didn’t have to leave the room till midday, and after that it was fine for us to sit in the public areas. We were also welcome to use the pool, and the pool showers/loos, until we left – even without buying anything at the bar. I think this was very nice of the owners. All the staff – including Kostas! – were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The best thing about these studios is their location. They are in a very quiet spot, yet just a minute’s walk from the bars and restaurants on the main street, and about 2 minutes’ walk from the harbour. Bus stops are close by on the main street; you can get a bus timetable in reception. It’s €1.80 each way to Lefkada Town. From the harbour, you can get a ferry to Meganissi (€1.90 each way as a foot passenger), Ithaka or Kefalonia. And, of course, there are many excursion boats too. There are lots of nice bars and restaurants on the main street and on the harbour-front. It generally cost us €3 for a small beer, €3.50–4 for a large beer, or €2.50–3.50 for a glass of wine. Two friendly bars we liked a lot, which both screened sports and were on the main street very near the studios, were Mimikos (€3 for a pint; €2 for a glass of wine) and the Iguana (which even showed the Ashes cricket). Overall, we thought these studios were fairly basic (as you might expect from their 2-star rating!), but perfectly fine for a week’s stay. And you could not fault the location.

Quiet and Pleasant

This is the third time we have stayed with Kostas and his family. Always a pleasure and so convenient and close to the town centre and harbour. 5 minutes from everywhere but set back so no noise from main street. Typically Greek but very useful Clean and comfortable. Thoroughly recommended. recommended.
