Lovely facilities and amazing staff. Really friendly and very welcoming. Hotel very clean and the dining area has great views of the beach. Food was great and location was good. Just a short walk from the centre of Rethymno.
Amazing but..... Sunscreen!
Do not buy Ocean Potion sunscreen at their gift shops! Horrible skin rash! I do not have senitive skin and my body was cover in hives! Room and view with amazing staying at The Beach. Over all great clean fun place with great workers! Best trip!
Lovely hotel, very clean and food excellent.staff also very friendly only issue is that there are only a few rooms with good views if you want to sit on your balcony . The drinks were very expensive ,€7.50 for a vodka and lemonade and €3.50 for a cappuccino
Great hotel couldn’t fault it
We came to this hotel for a week stay in Rethymnon , it is located just by the beach, it has its own private beach where you can relax on the sun beds, we went for b&b oprion and the breakfast was nice, good selection of food, the receptionists and hotel staff are super friendly and helpful, would definitely come back if we ever go to Rethymnon . Rooms were clean and spacious
Wonderful Honeymoon at a Wonderful Hotel
Following a delayed flight and a horrendous shuttle transfer to the hotel, we finally made it around half past midnight – not a great start to the honeymoon. The greeting at the reception was friendly. My husband and I hadn’t had anything for dinner – we didn’t realise how long the transfer was going to take. We asked if there were any places to eat nearby that were still open – there weren’t but they said they could do us a toastie at the bar which was open until 2am. We were also told there was a special surprise for us in our room. A porter helped up to our room with our luggage and pointed out where our surprise was. They had made us a lovely cake and left us a small bottle of champagne and a large bottle of water in the fridge. Lovely touch! The following day was glorious weather. We went down to the buffet breakfast – the selection was immense. The Maitre’d (Angelika (that’s what it said on her badge but I think her name was Aggeliki)) was so friendly and showed us to our table. I went to get myself a pot of tea. When I went to pour it, it spilled out from the sides (you know the pots I mean) and went practically all over the table. I complained about this to my husband and the next thing I know, the lovely waiter, Christos, came with a new pot and a selection of teabags for me to choose from. Then, almost every morning during our stay, Christos would bring me my tea as soon as he saw me. Reception staff were very knowledgeable and amazingly helpful during our stay – they were always one step ahead of us. One time during the week, my husband enquired about the laundry service in case we wanted to wash anything. We went back up to the room later in the afternoon and there was a laundry bag on the bed with a price list. At another point during the week (while the weather was bad) I asked about how to book a deep tissue massage in the spa. In the early evening while we were getting ready to go for dinner we received a phone call from the spa inviting us down before dinner to have a chat about a booking. We both had the deep tissue massages on the morning of our departure day – SO GOOD!!! The pool was lovely and the sun loungers were so comfortable. Lots of shade for husband and enough sunlight for me. We ate at the little pool side restaurant most days – mainly our favourite “dakos” but there was one day I enquired if they could just do watermelon and feta as that's what I fancied (the Cretans being famous for their outstanding feta cheese) and it wasn’t on their menu. Angelika said “how do you know about this?” I said it was something husband and I loved to eat back home. She replied, “of course we will make this for you” and charged us for a fruit salad. The size of the portion was huge. Probably should have skipped the tzatziki starter. Husband had to help me. We had dinner at the hotel once during our stay and we thought it was really good. A very good selection of food. A great selection of salads (including mini “dakos”), great looking main courses (my lamb was so tender) and their mini baklava – WOW - sugar rush and a half but worth it. In the bar later in the evenings we would order drinks which they would bring over with a small bowl of complimentary nuts (we would have to remind them I was allergic) so then they would bring a small bowl of crisp snacks (like the “bugles” crisps) instead. The choice of cocktails was vast and the drinks themselves were excellent. I could go on and on about how amazing this hotel was – so many little things they did just made our honeymoon perfect. We couldn't fault any staff - all were friendly, smiley and would always say "Kali mera/spera". We would definitely recommend this hotel to other visitors and would definitely come back!
