I cannot praise the staff and the hotel enough for letting us have a fantastic holiday. Two days after we arrived the we found out Thomas Cook has gone bust. Obviously we were worried as we heard stories about other hotels kicking holiday makers out as they thought they would not get paid. George on reception put our mind at rest saying you are guests of the hotel and we would not dream of asking you to leave. The whole two weeks we were there the staff we lovely. The food was good with lots of options. Entertainment was minimal but there was lots of entertainment a short walk away. The rooms were lovely and had everything you needed. It was cleaned daily to a very high standard. I would recommended this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and restful holiday.
Probably the worst hotel we have stayed at..
Has been four times on the island and stayed at 8 different hotels. But this has really been the absolute worst hotel stay for us in Crete. First in the room the toilet was broken, we tells the reception about this and they tells us they will fix it. We also hade a resident in the room in the form of a sliverfish and the guy at the reception just laughed at me when I told him. Anyway, we left the hotel for some dinner and when we got back 5 hours later the toilet was still broken, the guy in the reception just tell us it can't be done before tomorrow. So we get a new room at the other end of the hotel. This room smells like a fish shop, it's awful and even our clothes and bags get the smell.... At 05.00 am a truck parked outside the room and probably emtied the drain for about 1.5 hours so thanks to that we couldn't sleep. Would not recommend anyone to stay here. But one thing that's good was the woman at the reception in the morning she was very nice and apologized for all this.
For what we paid? Pretty Damned Good!
OK! So we didn't get off to the best start. We arrived late (around 10:45pm). We were the first to arrive from our flight because we only had hand luggage and took a taxi to the hotel. We completed the necessary formalities and were told that the All Inclusive package ended at 11pm so were encouraged to get a drink from the bar if we wanted one which we did. When we returned to the reception we were told there was a technical problem and we couldn't have our room for two nights so to compensate us we were each give a 30 minute massage and a free bottle of wine with our al a carte meal. I have to say that the room we were allocated was absolutely dire and quite possibly the worse room I have ever stayed in and even though we were absolutely shattered I didn't sleep well that night. HOWEVER in the morning we complained to reception and the manager invited us in to his office to discuss. We explained that although we appreciated problems arise we were not going to spend another night in that particular room. The manager was extremely understanding and said that another room would be available that morning and he would take us to see if it was acceptable. It wasn't the the pool view room we expected (although one of the two pools was close by we couldn't see it because of a garden area....we did have a great view of the small bar area though! This room was so much better and in light of how disappointed we were the manager also gave us complimentary late check out which was very much appreciated as we had a late flight home the following week. In that regard all was now well BUT during the week we spoke to a couple who came on the same flight as us and arrived a little later at the hotel because they had to wait for hold luggage etc. It appeared that this couple paid exactly the same amount for their holiday (we both booked through travelzoo) and on their arrival were told there room had been upgraded. They did have a pool view (the second pool) and a much larger room with a beautiful bathroom with double ended large shower unlike the over the bath shower in our room. I mention this because the bath was extremely small and quite frankly neither use nor ornament. I'm not exactly a large person but even I found this shower difficult to manoeuvre in (I still have the bruise on my knee where I kept hitting it on the tap to prove it!). Having said that the extras we received more than made up for this but it is worth mentioning I think. So what can I say about the food. We ate out on three evenings out of the seven we were there but I have to say for the price we paid the food was actually quite good. There was plenty of variety for breakfast, they tried their best to accommodate every nationality. I'd probably take the hot dog sausages off the menu but this is Crete people, you just aren't going to get good old british bangers and you need to accept this! Lunch was varied, hot meals and salads and dinner was much the same. All inclusive drinks were local, G&Ts were very very nice, local brandy was delicious, beer was nice but the wine was not to our taste, sorry! Although in some of the restaurants outside the hotel the wine was quite nice! The staff including the manager at this hotel were among the best we have encountered anywhere. Friendly, polite, helpful and we can't thank them enough. We mainly ate at the relaxation pool restaurant and the young ladies that served there were fabulous, the bar staff at the small bar near our room were exceptionally nice. The pool lifeguard was lovely. Theodore, who waited on us as we lazed around the pool was such a lovely guy and so hard working. Housekeeping staff kept our room beautifully clean and were always polite and friendly. Customer relation lady Anna was very helpful, reception staff were equally as good. One thing we missed was night life. We were told by another guest that entertainment had already been sent home, not sure how true this was but if you are going in October and not going out then I'd suggest you take a pack of cards! Bearing in mind we paid £299 per person for this holiday and (say) £100 of that would be for flights then you are probably talking around £30 a day for accommodation all food and all drinks so for a week of sun when the weather here in the UK is pretty miserable then all in all it was very good. Top tip -If you are booking here then make sure you ask for a room on the pool side of the road not the sea side!
Well after reading the reviews I thought I hope we enjoy it ...But i should not have worried yes the rooms are basic but clean but the staff are wonderful food has been very good and lots of choice nice drinks too .On the beach location is fantastic
Not the best
Certainly not the best hotel, at least not at present time, but it is quite cheap and very close to the sea and to the shop area. It would need a deep refreshment. Breakfast is essential, rooms are a bit sad and taste of dust. Those on the street side could be very noise.
