Lovely hotel
We stayed at the hotel as a group of three friends for a week. Each member of staff was helpful and friendly and smiling all the time. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and tasty. Cleanliness was excellent, our room was cleaned each day, towels changed. The location is perfect, restaurants and bars are close by, bus stop is few minutes walk to catch the bus to Corfu Town or to other villages.
Good hotel if you get the right room probably.
We stayed here for a week in early September and liked the area. There are some very good positives of the hotel. It was very clean, had a good pool, nice breakfast, friendly staff and was very well situated in Gouvia with easy access to buses to Corfu town. Unfortunately it was let down for us by the room, number 111. It was clean and had 3 separate single beds with a good bathroom but was so noisy! It was near the lift so we heard anyone coming back late, of which there were quite a few and then in the morning we were right above the kitchen and heard everything from about 6am. At the end of our week we were knackered and glad to be leaving unfortunately. Maybe we were very unlucky as there were loads of other rooms but we had a bad one, don’t accept room 111 if you are a light sleeper.
A little gem of a hotel
We have just returned from a fabulous two weeks at the Louvre Hotel and are already looking to book again for next year. The location is great right in the centre of the village near to all the restaurants and the supermarkets and a four minuet stroll to the beach. Our room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool was spacious ,modern and very clean the bathroom looked very new with a walk in shower and hot water all the time (not relying on solar power) which makes a change from some Greek hotels.Room was cleaned every day and new clean towels the same. There was always sun loungers available no mater what time of day and the pool was very clean but a little chilly. The breakfast was a mix of continental and a bit of English if you crave your bacon and eggs and seating was available inside or outside in the bar area. All the staff were great always smiling and nothing was to much trouble .I would definitely recommend this hotel for a peaceful and quiet base to stay
Hotel nice centre position
Nice friendly hotel and staff. Breakfast buffet is great with plenty of choices. Nice room with comfortable beds always kept clean. Hotel on Main Street with choice of restaurants and shops. Lovely view of nice pool and plenty of chairs and tables from rear balconies just a shame about views from front balconies
Nice Central Hotel in Gouvia
Stayed at Louvre Hotel in Aug 23 for a week with my wife. The hotel is located right on the main street in Gouvia but is set back slightly and comprises of 2 floors however it does have an elevator, we were allocated a street view room on the 2nd floor which had a slight sea view so was something to watch when sitting out on the balcony in addition we never really found it noisy at night. With its central location there are plenty of restaurants close by to eat at for both lunch and dinner. As detailed in previous reviews the hotel has been recently renovated and tastefully decorated, the rooms are of average in size and were cleaned and serviced everyday with fresh towels and the sheets change twice in the week, the cleaners did a fantastic job during our stay. There is a small fridge, tv (with a few English channels), kettle with 2 mugs and quite a few power outlets. We both found the beds comfortable, and the air con worked excellently, the on-suite room has a shower and complimentary shower gel but strangely it had no shower screen so when you do shower the room floor get very wet, there is a drain in the center but it’s not ideal as the floor is left wet and slippy (although you do get a bathmat towel) there’s plenty hot water and shower works fine. The pool area is small and at rear of the hotel, it is well kept, and it has about 20 sun loungers and some sun canopies although its small we never had an issue getting a lounger at any time of the day and this was with the hotel being full and in high season. (a real positive). A point to note is that the pool is 2.6m deep with a shallow end of 1.3m there is no kid’s pool. There is bar is at the front of the hotel for drinks and found the prices to be average for the area. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of juice, tea & coffee, cereal, tinned & fresh fruit, cold meat / cheese and cooked breakfast, although the first few days they kept covering all the eggs in oregano! thankfully towards the end of our week this stopped (maybe better to have it as a condiment should people want this herb rather than just add at the cooking stage) Plenty bread / pastries, although the pastries were kept in a hot plate with the lid on so did cause them to go a bit soggy. It is nice to sit out the front of the hotel and eat breakfast and watch the world go by. I found all the staff all pleasant and helpful which are a real asset to this lovely small hotel. So just to sum up this review, a nice quiet hotel great staff and mostly adult’s guests Would I stay here again? Yes, definitely as we enjoyed our week in Gouvia
