Last minute Holiday
After the collapse of Thomas Cook airlines the “Supply & Demand” Pricing forces up Vacation prices- This vacation was found Using a UK Tavel Company and quite reasonable . Straight away the impressive location takes your breath away , with the beach , restaurants and bars all within a very short walking distance . When you get into the specifics of Your all Inclusive - things become quite different to What you experience . Room was clean, modern and had a small Terrace that you could See the ocean from and relatively quiet ( Apart from Other guests slamming room doors closed at all Hours ). The room was adequately equipped With hob, toaster and kettle for Those Who were Self-catering . Beds were very comfortable and offered great sleep quality. Movement around the resort was filled Stairs and multi levels ( lifts were available ), but for anyone with mobility issues - it was Not Good. The ramps were steep and walkways narrow and Well lit of a nighttime . Food ; Quite disappointing, tepid , recycled and some restaurant staff did not clear the table or Acknowledge you ( this became apparent over our time here ). The queuing system For food Was a farce , with some / if not all Guests pushing , not giving way and jostling to get their food.. Avoid breakfast , lunch and dinner unless you can arrive early as it becomes a free-for-All. Be prepared to Queue though. Overall the majority of staff are pleasant, polite and helpful . Front of house always seems to be undermanned and busy , but helpful when not busy. The rules for All Inclusive are pernicious and some food Is chargeable - which you would Expect to Be part of the package . The beach bar and sun beds are free for all Inclusive guests , but a weird rule that if you wish to eat at the beach bar requires you to Book it one day in advance at reception. Beach bar staff are a delight and always willing to help and serve with joy. Beach is safe to swim on and Have showers. Major negative point is that the Resort company owns the toilets on the seafront , and charge 50 Cents to use them which is shameful profiteering . Or you can walk back to the resort and use their facilities for free. Overall, this was an enjoyable vacation , ruined by minor issues that should never have been .
Conned by the Resorts UK Sales Team
We booked this holiday in April after enduring a 1 1/2 hour sales pitch. They were trying to sell us a six week package, fortunately we only booked one !.We were shown an apartment in Los Olivos and were not interested at any cost. We were then shown one in the sister resort Lagos De Fanabe and were assured that we would be able to stay in one of those which was a blatant untruth from Darren and his team, as they are only allowed to sell holidays to Los Olivos, which we only found out after arrival. We were also ensured that the sales team have the pick of the rooms in the resorts so bad luck anyone booking with any of the other suppliers if the rooms we were offered are the best. So the holiday got off to a bad start when we arrived at our expected resort (Lagos), to be sent to Los Olivos which is where we would never have booked for, but it got even worse when we finally found our recently refurbished room 256A !. If this is a room after refurbishment then all I can thin is that they are looking at getting the resort a new rating of two star rather than the current one of three star, see the attached photos which give a little insight of what we endured. We managed to change room to a slightly better one after three nights (2106) thanks to the help of Alicia (thank you) which had sea view and a large solarium but still was in need of refurbishment. We reported problems with patio doors, light fittings and sewers to reception which, during our stay, were totally ignored. On a positive note however the hotels location is perfect right on the main boardwalk from Los Cristianos to La Galleta and the all inclusive upgrade at 31.50 euros per day was good value and the La Tosca restaurant where as a resident you got a 15% discount was exceptional. All in all, whilst we love the location and Cost Adeje, we will never return to Los Olivos Beach Resort again.
the hotel was very clean and i think that is certainly a credit to it's staff. The swimming pools were excellent. There was every comfort in our room with plenty of space for out needs. The air condition worked superbly
We booked this hotel for the school week in October. We booked through on the beach and it was advertised as a junior suite. This was a studio not a suit of any kind. We paid nearly £700 for a week for a studio. I would have thought that a junior suite would be a one beadroom but this was not the case. This was also the start of our issues. When we checked in we spoke to a receptionist called Zdena. I have noticed on other reviews that some people loved this person and some didn't. I didn't. For a receptionist she is on a power trip. she wouldn't let you speak and only was interested in what she wanted to say. She put it down to the language barrier but that was nonsense. On the first night we got there we went to have a shower but the water was luke warm. Went to reception the next day to let Zdena know on the way out and she very rudely asked us if we had attempted to try it again. When we said no she aggresively told us to go and try it again before she would get a technician to look at it. We went and done it (should have told her to stuff it) but it was still not working. She got a technician but it was never fixed. I didn't want to go back down to reception . After the third day there was also a smell in the studio which was like wet drains coming from the toilet. We were not spending too much time in the apartment so did not raise this but I should have as the smell was disgusting. I will not be rusing back to Los Olivos due to this experience.
Quite rude, no information or help and too basic
I hate to moan, but here goes: Late arrival (10pm) and tired. 3 cases to wheel around a complex in the dark. We couldn't find out room for a good 15 mins and I eventually left mum with the cases whilst I wandered round. A lovely man came to our rescue and found our room, which was up some stairs, reception said it was ground floor so I didn't think to go up some stairs, not was it signed well and there was no lighting on the way up the stairs. We opened the door to our room to bit hit by heat and humidity. More fool me for not realising that this apartment HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING! I thought in 2019 in Tenerife this may exist by default. Oh how wrong I was. After putting the room fans on (one living room and one bedroom) and opening all windows and doors available to get some of the available breeze in, it cooled down slightly, but it was still very hot indeed. I would not be able to cope on winter. Upon opening the fridge to put bottled water in, there was an infestation of ants in the fridge door handle and then noticeably on all the worktops, bearing in mind we hadn't had any food or even brought any into the apartment. Fast forward to the morning, woken up with an itch with some ants on my left leg, we were able to see that the floor tiles in the apartment were far from clean. They were stained in certain areas so definitely due a steam clean. They were a bit grim. The living room has a small TV in a bizarre location, as it's to the right of the sofa so you can't sit and watch it comfortably, however it did have a few food English channels. The bathroom was ok in fairness, good enough shower, toilet and sink, however the tiles were a bit dirty (as above) and the toilet just dripped ALL THE TIME. It never stopped. I even looked in the cistern to see if the ball was stick, nope. There is absolutely nowhere to keep your things in the bathroom either, no self or storage at all, just had to rest our wash bags on the top of the bin. Plenty of toilet roll provided though. I was staying here with my mother, who had the bedroom and I had the trunk bed which was fine in comfort, however the under sheet wasn't that clean and a bit plastic like, which didn't help to keep cool at 10,000 degrees at night, so I removed it and took a sheet off the other bed where mum was staying and used that instead. The bedroom did have a safe, iron and ironing board, however, very little storage for two people for clothing. Outside the apartment was a little patio area with a washing line for a few items of clothing which as useful. However, this area was never cleaned and full of cigarette ash constantly from people walking by and flicking the ash that way. Breakfast was average. Awful coffee and fake fresh juices. Fruit was very good, and the fresh omelettes they made. Though the breakfast area was quite cramped and warm/humid. Just not a relaxing breakfast environment at all. I mentioned the ants and toilet to reception, nothing was done. Not sure if anyone even came to check if I am honest. Good things about it..... Good massage at the poolside. Very close to shops and restaurants. Cheap -but you absolutely get what you pay for. We paid £500 for the week for 2 people. We checked out early, a day early and move to another hotel, as I couldn't bare to wake up with ants on me again. When I went to check out early - they didn't even as if there was a problem and if there was a reason for us leaving early! I won't be staying here again. It was "ok" at best. Then pool areas etc are all well presented and clean, but the apartment we had was a big let down.
