A shabby poorly appointed apartment with uncaring hotel who are just not interested in complaints.
We stay in Tenerife at least 6 weeks a year but. this was the first time we had stayed in Los Olivias Part 2. The position of this place is good and we were hopeful of a pleasant stay. After queuing at reception we were told that we had been allotted aroom. It was just about as far from reception as you could get. Up hill and up a narrow staircase with no handrail. The living/ kitchen was bare with an old white table and 4 brown chairs,a sofa that was just too uncomfortable to sit on. No cushions. There was space for 16 wine bottles but no wine glasses.not even a mug for tea or coffee. A dangerous cupboard placed over the sink which caused me to cut my head.. The bathroom did not have a shower mat ,a hook to hang your clothes or anywhere to put your toiletries.it smelt of dirty drains and despite complaints nothing was done about it. The bedding had holes in, it wasn’t changed during the week we were there. The headboard was loose so that every time we turned over in bed the noise woke us. We had to go out and buy hangers as 10 is not enough fir two people. I complained to Sand and Sea and also to the hotel. I have not received any reply from either of them. We spent a considerable sum of money to stay here and it was one of the worst apartments I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. I would not recommend it.
Great Location - Shame about everything else!
One and a half stars given due to the location of the resort! Have just spent 3 weeks at this resort - first apartment was barely habitable. No Shower and enamel missing from over half the bath. Would not set foot in it and complained bitterly. After 2 days they found another apartment which had received some refurbishment but it was very poorly equipped. No instructions given for kitchen equipment which was trial and error. The model of can opener I remember from my Grandmother's kitchen 60 years ago. No assistance given to relocate as they do not offer this service in spite of the fact that we are over 80 and had to carry suitcases, food and supplies of water from one end of the site to the other - all up hill! TV and WiFi reception both useless (TV pixellating all the time ). All in all an experience not to be repeated compounded by poor reception service.
Los Olivos is a pearl by the beach
Los Olivos is extremely enjoyable and offers a wide variety of beautiful pools that are separate for older guests and families with children. In addition, the pool garden has a restaurant with light fine dining and of course a bar. What fascinated us was that all the staff who worked in the restaurant at our swimming pool made feel like we were all best friends and family. The same can be said for all the staff working in the hotel's main dining area, it was exceptionally friendly and what we particularly noticed was the staff's efficiency and self-esteem. It offers a very varied and delicious breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. Los Olivos is superbly located, very short on the wonderful Fanabe beach which offers everything that pleases the mind, restaurants, small shops and not least a wonderful beach which is to sunbathe around the middle of the day and get good drinks on the beach bars . Evening walks on the beach are something that everyone will love and remember. We were in a Studio apartment which was great with a good balcony against the sun. We have already started planning a 6 - 8 week trip from mid-January 2021, which shortens the Icelandic winter so that spring is near when we return home. Finally, I would like to point out great trips with them at tenerifeferdir.is especially pointing to the "Food and Wine" and "Tenerife 101"
We just got back from here after, sandstorms corona virus etc etc!! We checked in no information was given to us about the safe, discount in the restaurant, room was filthy even before the sandstorm!! Receptionist didn’t seem to be bothered at all, I requested a room with a walk in shower before we went as I have a mobility problem, when we got to the room it was a shower over the bath, had to walk miles back to reception as they’d put as in the furthest room in the resort, then to be told there were no available rooms to switch too also come back the next day, went back the next day to be told still no other rooms, by this time I thought you know what, we had no choice but to cope. The amount of rooms in the resort, there are no where near enough beds round the pool, a family who were all together took most of the beds every morning leaving hardly any for anyone else!! If you have mobility problems then this hotel is not for you, it’s hilly to say the least and with no help getting our suitcases into our room apart from 2 lovely teenagers that helped us. Even the ramps for accessibility are very steep and not sure how you’d be able to push a wheelchair up them without a lot of elbow grease!!! Even the ceiling fans in our rooms were broken and felt worried every time you put them on we were gonna have them fall on our heads. Also, when we tried to use the phone in our room to ring down to reception, the wire had been ripped out of the wall and didn’t work!!!!!!! We’ll be back to costa Adeje but not to this hotel. Oh and while I think of it, why is there a woman knocking on your door trying to get us to book for next year after we’d only been there 2 days? I think she was possibly a timeshare saleswoman but not 100% sure. The best thing about this hotel was La Tosca restaurant, the calzone was lovely x
Lovely place shame about the reception service tv and wifi
We arrived at LOS Olivos on Friday and were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation and the hotel in general. There was a trainee on reception who was very sweet but all of the other staff we happened to meet over the next few days were curt, abrupt and unhelpful particularly the male receptionist. The WiFi is rubbish and rarely works - a common factor amongst most guests ( infact if you’re wander down the road to the Colonial pub you’ll get good WiFi immediately) ! We reported this on behalf of ‘our floor’ but nothing was done - it’s clearly something the manager needs to address We also reported on day 1 that our tv didn’t work - not a big deal as we spend all our time outside, but after the newsflash of a hotel up the road being in lock down because of the Coronavirus we thought it would be useful to be able to watch tv just incase ! Anyhow - it still doesn’t work. After the sandstorms and mighty gales on sun / mon when we were advised to stay in our rooms we heard a massive crash! One of our sun beds had literally flown off the roof onto our balcony and the other one flew off somewhere ! We reported it but it hasn’t bn replaced The hotel and pools etc are lovely but they are clearly massively under staffed at reception - the reception team need to learn what good customer service is and they need to sort the WiFi I’m currently using my mobile data to write this review!
