Hieno paikka aivan rannassa
all inclusive week in jan 2019
hotel- not too far from airport so transfers were fairly quick, met by lady with glass of Cava or soft drink, quickly booked in reception staff informative and very pleasant. Hotel safe box bit over the top. Attractive gardens throughout, rooms OK, bed so comfy and nice view, not a lot of sun on balcony. meals- varied meals through out the week, served with drink of choice, Italian meal provided once per week served in the Tucan bar. staff- reception staff, catering staff, waiting on staff in all areas, bar staff, cleaning staff, and management staff were very pleasant and friendly, but first prize go to animation staff who were hard working and asset to hotel, thank you Steve, Victor, Vito, Nico. Overall a very pleasant week, met some nice people which helped miking it an enjoyable break.
A great location and establishment
We booked this hotel based on the great recent reviews and we were not disappointed. The rooms were lovely but one downside was the thin walls which did mean we could actually hear someone snoring through the walls and other noises like doors banging on the corridor. Fortunately this didn't have too much of an impact at this time of year but it could be disruptive at peak times or if there are children etc. The rooms were serviced everyday (but at different times) and sometimes a little inconsistent in towels provided, but no issue. The location of the hotel was perfect being so close to the airport and proximity to the shopping centre was a big plus. The pool areas were nice and the gardens were nice to walk around. The gym was spacious and fairly well equipped. The restaurant did not disappoint at all. We were absolutely spoiled with the variety of food on offer both at breakfast and dinner. The general managers were visible at a lot of the time which was nice to see. A huge plus for us was the on-site cat café as we love cats and it was great to be able to contribute to the work the charity are doing by helping look after them. As runners we were also impressed with the location as the cycle track runs from outside the hotel for about 15km, with some great opportunity for speed work (in fact Jo Pavey has trained here too). We got up and did a run as the sun rose everyday - it was well worth it. All in all, a very good value holiday and a great hotel.
Christmas at Elba Sara
It was our 2nd time at Elba Sara hotel, both times for Christmas. This is a fabulous hotel, when arriving your greated with a beautiful looking hotel that just oozes quality. Inside the entrance hall (stunning) big open view window out to the hotel grounds and sea view. Staff attentive and nothing to much for them , rooms really are very nice and with a touch of class with everything you need in them , oh and a great shower room too.!Room service was every day and left little treats in chocolate sweets for you. Nice little touch. Hotel dining ( two halls to choose from) both excellent and with an endless supply of food at the highest quality. Drinks plenty to choose from and good bar staff. Grounds of the hotel never ends , huge and plenty to do for both families and couples alike x2 main pools , young children’s pool and a small hot pool . Entertaining for all children was fantastic and always something to do from football, archery, volleyball, golf water polo just to name a few.Manager and staff treated you very well and always made you feel welcome Will definitely be going back here
All Inclusive, New Year Break with Family
My family and I arrived at the Elba Sara on the Boxing Day for a 2 week all inclusive break. From the moment of arrival the staff at reception were most welcoming handing out glasses of fizz. Check In was easy and we were given the room card keys for our stay (myself and my husband and my daughter, son in law and granddaughter). The rooms we given were in block 4, next door to each other and were very clean and tidy. When booking with Thomas Cook I contacted them through twitter and had asked for a room that gets the sun on the balcony and as we booked in Jan 18 the agent also advised he would request a Junior Suite if available. The room we had wasn't a Junior Suite and as it was quite late in the afternoon, I couldn't tell if the balcony got the sun or not as at the time is was in the shade. We just unpacked and went out for a wander around and had something to eat and a drink. The next day it was apparent that the rooms we were in were in the shade so I went to reception and explained the above and spoke to an absolutely lovely lady who showed me my booking and Thomas Cook had not left any additional notes so the hotel were unaware (I'll be feeding back to Thomas Cook..), however she advised that she could move one of us the following day and another the day after. As we were there for two weeks I was happy with this as my husband and I love to sit on the balcony in the sun, have a drink and watch the world go by (okay people watch, hehe), our daughter wasn't that bothered as with a 2 year year old its difficult. The following day as I was walking past reception . this lovely lady (wish I knew her name!) called me over and advised that she had secured a special room for me with a large balcony that got the sun all day and the next day when we moved into the room, it was amazing, a large prestige room with an amazing balcony that stretched around the room with gorgeous sea views! I can't thank this lovely lady enough, I tried to catch her again before I left to thank her personally but she wasn't on reception, so if you get to read this, thank you so much and I will see you again at Xmas! In regards to food, drink and service, I have say that having been to a few all inclusives in the past by day 3 I've normally had enough and eat out, however this hotel provided a large variety of dishes to choose from including different meats and fish options, soups and various salads and numerous desserts etc which I'd say you would have to be very fussy to not find something you like to eat! The staff on the whole were friendly and accommodating, especially Harry and his lovely blonde colleague who were normally in the reception bar serving. Being December the pools were pretty cold and it was mainly a few brave kids who went in, however we were happy relaxing on the sunbeds which there plenty to choose from around all the pools, the animation team work really, really hard and there was a lovely Italian lady I got talking to in the kids club who was amazing with my granddaughter and made her a lovely Princess crown! My only criticism would be the children's entertainment in the evenings which was only for 30 minutes or a little over this and although the kids enjoyed it, especially with Pepe, this could be longer, maybe an hour as after all its a family hotel too! Overall we had a fantastic stay, weather was on our side with only 1 cloudy day and we will definitely be back! Thank you Elba Sara, especially my lovely friend on reception ;)
