Hotellin ravintolat olivat muutoin aika hintavia. Aamiaisbuffet oli hyvä ja runsas. Hotelliketjuun kuuluva vesipuisto oli alakouluikäisille pojillemme yksi koko matkan kohokohtia. Suosittelen.
Majestic, opulence, royalty, grandeur - just a few of the words that describe this gemstone!
I and my wife have stayed at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray now 5 times – this testimony goes some way in transpiring how great this property is! We’ve already left 4 previous reviews of this fabulous establishment, and this is really an amalgamation of all of them together – because nothing has changed so far as quality and service are concerned…It’s still the epitome an ultra-luxury resort! HOTEL As mentioned we are now regular guests and this was our 5th stay at Zabeel Saray, as a matter of fact, we wouldn't even consider staying anywhere..moreover, it has now become the reason we even visit Dubai. The hotel resort has been so well managed and up kept, that it looks and feels as though it was built just yesterday. The palatial regal architecture and character of this Ottoman treasure casts a spellbinding trance on the senses; which coupled with the warm Arab hospitality, culminates in a stunning experience that shines through everything you see, feel and experience. Moreover decadent surroundings complemented by the astounding service by each and every member of staff (at least that we came by); galvanizes in an overall experience that goes above and beyond just a holiday/break. Overall you have to look really hard to find anything to fault with this resort - after 4 years we've still yet to! As mentioned in terms of quality nothing has changed an iota as it is still an absolutely faultless hotel, leaving you mesmerized each and every time you enter and leave - pure opulence and grandeur (with an awe-inspiring level of detail, in recreating true Ottoman majesty!). I was also pleased to see that the entire premises have been so well maintained and level of detail given in earnest all due attention - don’t think we don’t notice all these little things, all you wonderful people behind the scenes ;) I can only imagine Zabeel Saray maturing with age, a little like the great mansions of olden days (Chatsworth, Blenheim, etc); the magnitude of quality and level of expertise that has gone into not only construction but also maintenance is truly outstanding. ROOMS We have resided in a few of the rooms, the ocean view, palm view room, and also the club lounge room - in a nutshell the difference with the latter is that you’ll get a 5th floor room (the highest I believe is the super exclusive room on level 6) with a view overlooking the palm (fronds), private chauffeur to and from the airport, and most notably the added feature of being able to access a separate "club lounge" quarter for free food snacks (although in my opinion some of the portions I’d class as meals) and (alcoholic) drinks throughout the day. As I and my wife are teetotal it wasn’t really of much benefit to us, apart from having a separate lounge to have breakfast in the mornings as it gets pretty packed in the main one. The majority of the reviewers have given an accurate description for this place, it has an enchanting ambience, mesmerising aroma (that greets you every time you enter the building and never "gets too much"), a tranquil spa, the staff are awesome (a lot..and I mean A LOT can be learnt by the British hospitality industry!), a pristine beach, a seriously huge bath (people aren't kidding when they say you can fit 3 people in it!); topped off with awesome hospitality (a testimony to Eastern hospitality towards guests), restaurants and gourmet creations they knock the socks of anything we've ever tasted (and we have, lets say, a sophisticated vegetarian diet), and overall an unforgetful retreat in a world within a world! DINING We had half board which I can definitely recommend. Drinks are pricey here (not just the booze), but you've got to remember this is Dubai and also this is a top-notch hotel, so you kind of get back your money in other ways with things the hotel offers). The staff running this place are really great and ever so friendly, so definitely deserving of tips. The hotel is on the crescent around the palm and its a bit of a mission getting on and off the palm, but taxis are reasonable and there's also free shuttle buses periodically, so it's really not an issue (in fact I prefer the isolation from the hectic-ness that is in Dubai). We've also stayed during Ramadan and apart from the eating/drinking restrictions in public, it can get pretty hot, but Dubai is becoming more and more accommodating so there are still places to eat and drink albeit behind curtains and limited to inside hotels. A few words of advice to my fellow guests to be, if you go half-board you get vouchers to use both for breakfast and then also dinner, with these you can also visit a lot of other restaurants throughout the Jumeirah network about 40 restaurants. The hotel arranged a vegetarian (we are both vegetarians) cake for my 40th birthday - very nice of them, fresh fruit to our room…and also daily newspapers (personally I think they should make a small charge for these, as it seems too much to give complimentary!) AMALA the best Indian food I've ever had! This is the fifth time we have tried this restaurant and to be honest after the 3rd and especially the 4th we were very reluctant to return because it seemed the standards had dropped. We are vegetarians and so understand it is a little more difficult to prepare dishes for us, however, that said on the first few occasions we tried the cuisine it was out of this world, but as I mentioned on the last couple of occasions it seemed the offerings and overall the food itself was not up to par and almost felt rushed or pre-prepared. However, thanks to the new chef whose name is Omkar, he assured us the offering would be back up to the usual calibre we were accustomed to..he wasn’t wrong! I think he has a fresh perspective on how to cater to his guests, and it paid off. I particularly liked that after the initial appetizer, he came to us to enquire how it was and then tailored each subsequent dish so it was tailored for us – awesome! Carry on doing what you are doing because it is fantastic!! The decor in this restaurant is awesome, very majestic-Indian, really gives you the feel of a North Indian Royal banquet. I heard that they may be remodelling the restaurant but in my opinion, this would be terrible, as I believe they have created a perfect pitch of atmosphere in relation to the type of food being served. PLAJ Excellent visits to the Plaj restaurant, so good in fact we’ve dined here probably 25 times throughout the course of our five stays at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray this is a testimony to how delicious the food is there and the achievements of the chefs who prepare our vegetarian courses. They have a actual pizza traditional oven something which cannot be replicated with a standard oven producing a perfectly pan Pizza the freshness of the vegetables is truly remarkable in their tastes when balanced with the herbs and the Sauce truly this is a gem of a restaurant and Id encourage anyone who would really like a perfect Pizza Pasta to come by and visit here. We are especially grateful to the chefs who prepared our delicious vegetarian meals - an awesome gourmet treat! Staff were also very attentive and very friendly to chat to. Ensure you try out this place on your visit, to compliment your truly memorable experience at the Zabeel Saray. Well done people, an excellent job..especially in this killer heat :) SPA Spa is still WAY UP THERE, re grandeur, relaxation, "one-ness, you have to see and experience it to understand what level this place is on! STAFF All staff we encountered (over the past 5 visits!) have been exceptional, I really mean that. A particular shout out to these of shining pillars of example: Reception: Rinu, Affan Sultans lounge: Ashok, Tsewang, Amit, Sama Imperium: Muneesh, Rakesh, Myat, Belek, Jisman, Archana, Shija, Amit, Ryan, Chef Sharjeel. Bojana, Kseniia, Joby POINTS/FEEDBACK All that said, I do have a couple of critiques - more so with the management of resources than the actual hospitality/gratuity side: 1. Consider applying charges for the current amenities or introduce a rewards scheme (eg fewer towels used equals vouchers/credit to use in the hotel..like other hotels), swapping the individual portions of plastic consumables with fixed replaceable bottles as you have in the spa. 2. You give out a free plastic water bottles, which equates to way too many plastic bottles (obviously keeping people hydrated is a must, this is the desert after all), however, consider using plant-based plastics bottle (that biodegrade), or better still water filling stations around the resort and issuing reusable water pitchers/canisters. 3. Promote a way of tipping those behind the scenes, as I feel there is an army operating behind the scenes to keep this well-oiled machine running, however, they don't get the praise and gratitude they deserve. 4. The food wastage is still an issue and gave us an uneasy feeling (avaricious guess will always plate more than they can eat, so reduce the portions you layout so less is taken because when you see so much wastage you just can't just shake off that feeling of guilt. Likewise, the food portions for a la carte are HUGE, please consider energy and environmental cost and produce (this is rich intense fine dining, not fast food, so portions should reflect how much can be consumed). If you can pilot a scheme to measure and record food usage and wastage, it will clearly evidence the above. CONCLUSION Id like to extend our gratefulness to those people that built this marvel of a palace and those individuals that created the architecture behind this tranquil wonderment; I also want to congratulate the management front the grassroots folks right to the chief at the top (though I can only presume there must be an army of managers keeping this well-oiled machine running to the tick). If you are considering this place don't hesitate..just book it and let these guys take care of the rest. We've stayed in the sea view room, the palm room and both have there pros and cons, you seem to get more sun with sea view rooms, the downside is the view isn't as good as the palm view, whilst the palm view is interesting to look at the sunset/sunrise is better the other side. We’ve also tried the club room (you get access to the club lounge and get picked up/dropped off to the airport) – a big “draw” was that you get free booze for a few hours in the evenings, however, we are both teetotal (and vegetarians), so many of the offerings aren't relevant. Finally, I would like to applaud the management of Zabeel Saray, who ensure it runs so well and with impeccable standards, you guys sure do know how to treat your guests and deliver a “stay different” experience…I can just hear that lovely music that plays in the elevators ringing in my ears right now :)
The third trip to Zabeel Saray and another great trip. Firstly the service is second to none. Harshall from the club lounge was again very impressive and took personal responsibility to ensure we had a great time with all the restaurant and food requirements catered for. The food in all the a la cartel restaurants was a very high standard as was the service. My personal favourite was the Lebanese. The staff in the club lounge were brilliant especially Aishwarya. There were only a few negatives. Firstly nothing to do with the hotel but the weather is very uncomfortable, we came 3 weeks earlier last year which we found ok but the humidity was terrible and will now visit October in future and never again in summer. The second point is that I really think Zabeel didn’t realise how special the club lounge used to be. The location has moved (it’s now the crown) to a more clinical environment, the old lounge was such a relaxing environment and I do think the magic the club had has been lost. The staff as I say above have maintained the service levels but location change is a move for the worse. The club package also used to include lunch which it did when we booked however on arrival we were advised lunch had been removed. This was one of the reasons we book the club lounge as having a 6 year old lunch is required and waiting until afternoon tea at 3pm is too late. In summary we would return later in the year but wouldn’t pay the extra money for club having now to pay for lunch anyway and the drinks 6 till 8 don’t cover the extra cost of the club. I may have been swayed if the club was in the old location but it’s now lost its edge. Again thanks to the staff for amazing service.
4th Time and still the best hotel in Dubai
The standards never drop in this hotel. Spa still amazing and free! Room and restaurants are all amazing especially liked the Rib room you can have the two course menu that includes a wonderful steak without paying a supplement. Also all restaurant in the hotel were selling a glass on wine for 35 dirhams which works out about £7.60 which I thought was cheap for Dubai prices and certainly cheaper than last time. Also worth paying the supplement and go to Pai Thai amazing food. Also had lovely meal at the top of the Emirates tower it’s an Italian called Alta Badia also has a good happy hour 4-8pm. Once again this place delivered and more also special mention to Monjour the bellman every time our paths crossed he always made a point to see if everything was ok and if we need anything many thanks Monjour. Also they now have an e butler service which is great for instance you need some more tea bags and you having a meal at another hotel just text them and they will be in the room when you arrive back. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was a photographer walking round the beach and hotel wanting to take photos don’t see the point of that. Absolutely amazing stay and can’t wait to go back. Thank you!!!
This hotel can you book with your eyes closed, excellent service, very nice staff, you are seen and taken good care of! THEY MUST DO SOMETHING WITH THE PRICES OF DRINKS. It is far too expensive to pay an average of 40 DIRHAM for drinks per person each time we eat and take advantage of half board.
