Such a Shame !!

SUCH A SHAME !!! We stayed at the Alva Apartments 3rd to 10th October. The plus points were :- 1) Staff were great 2) Apartments, pool and communal areas were kept very clean and tidy 3) Room servicing was superb In spite of the good comments above our stay was spoilt by one negative - the apartments have a Bar close to the road and behind the pool. As the Alva apartments are right at the end of the high street the bar always seemed empty. From about midday to at least 11 pm very loud music ( and actually in our opinion quite poor quality/ tacky !!) was played on the speakers of this bar and could easily be heard in the room with the double glazed windows shut ( fortunately room has aircon but quite noisy could not really be used at night). We complained to the staff who were understanding but explained this was a decision of the owner to try and attract passing trade to the bar. This did not seem to having the desired effect . The hotel was not prepared to reduce the volume so we had to put up with it. In addition to the pool bar music up to 11pm there seemed to be some sort of karaoke event maybe in another bar close by and on weekends this seemed to go on into the early hours. It is such a shame that the efforts of the hotel staff to provide good quality accommodation and services is completely spoilt by an owners desire to maximise profits from an unsuccessful bar venture. To us if the bar were to use more traditional / live music it would be far more successful - but of course we would say that.

Lovely apartment

Lovely stay for one week. Great location. Clean and quiet but also on the main street and not far from the beach. Would most definately stay here again Also has a shower room in main building if you have a later flight so you can enjoy your last day..without having to pay extra to keep your room

Much needed break

Stayed at the Alva checked in 2345 hours the chap on the desk very friendly and made us welcome. Woke up went around pool area very good,plenty of sun beds available.pool bar good, overall a lovely hotel to enjoy your holiday. Also a good location for fig tree bay. If you want a base to explore this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

Stayed at the Alva apartments really good location very clean and lovely pool area, staff friendly and made you welcome would highly recommend it’s a perfect base for getting around. Walk along the promenade some lovely restaurants

Perfect

Absolutely loved this apartment. Had one bedroomed apartment on 4th floor snd it was quiet, spotless, and a lovely side view of the sea from the glass fronted balcony. Was in a nice spot just at the end of the main strip so could not hear any noise at night. I will definatley return here.
