Definitely not a 4* hotel! And Jet2 should not sell this holiday as a 4* star. It’s definitely a 3*. However, as a family of 5 we had a lovely Holiday! Zante is beautiful, kalamki is lovely! Pros Staff are friendly, food was really good. Especially the snack bar! We didn’t stop eating on this Holiday. Drinks were okay. Water park really made the holiday! Beach only 15 minute walk away and it’s lovely. Main Pools are lovely and clean. Really quick transfer from airport. Cons Bathrooms was really outdated and not very nice. We were in block f and the shower area by pool area was mouldy and green so obviously hadn’t been cleaned for awhile. Our room wasn’t cleaned very well throughout our stay! The floors or balcony area was never cleaned! But overall we had a really nice holiday, don’t think we would go in peak season but was nice for some winter sun.
Great for kids not so much for the adults!
As many of the reviews state, I would not class this hotel as 4 stars. Certain parts of the hotel and facilities are in need of a refurb. Walls are very thin and you can hear a lot of noise from adjoining rooms. Our room was very clean but fairly basic, the bathroom in particular was small and has seen better days. It irked us having to pay 15 euros for use of a safe for the week and to pay for wifi in a 4 star is a bit much. Kalamaki itself is a bit run down but again plenty of good restaurants and would recommend the Bullhorn Steakhouse. The food I would say is very average. I think the phrase "less is more," applies with less choice and more quality needed. White and red wine we found undrinkable. On the plus side breakfast was good with plenty of selection and lunchtime snacks at the pool were good. We were in in block F which thankfully was far from the main pool area which is very noisy and sometimes playing music which is unsuitable for kids. This all sounds negative, but we travelled with our 5 year old who had a ball enjoying all the slides and shallow areas of the pool which are ideal for children along with fairly basic entertainment at night. The shuttle to the beautiful beach runs hourly is great and we spent a few lovely days there. We may return but would stay elsewhere and maybe return to use the kids pool area.
Decent October Family break
Hotel: Very clean, staff always going around collecting glasses, all bars staffed and service relatively quick. Food: Three restauarants (one of which is an Italian a la carte so needs to be booked). Main restaurant was OK, end of season when we went so I assume the limited choice was done to this. You can always get something to eat, but not as good as some of the other All Inclusive resorts I've been too. Greek restaurant served roast meets, and was quieter than the main one. Desserts were nice. Italian restaurant in reality is the furthest I've seen from an Italian. Food was OK but limited. Pools: We just used the splash park, was great with good variety of slides, not all on at once kind of a rota system in place. Room: Bit dated but clean, door wouldn't close to bathroom but got fixed quickly after reporting. Beds not so comfy, but are they ever in these resorts?. Fridge and microwave in the room, safe available and space to hang clothes. Tv had only three working stations - I know you don't go on holiday to watch TV, but comes in handy at nap time to entertain kids. Hairdryer in bathroom. Resort: Listed number of places on the main street, but literally just outside hotel. Corner42 was really good, Rose and Crown not so much. The Why Not Bar was good too for a drink. Lots of wee souvenir shops, also don't buy water from hotel, go to the shop just outside hotel on the strip, 6 bottles for the price of one.
