Mykonos Fantasies Delivered by top notch luxury hotel sealed with great service

Stop looking and start booking at this dream come true luxury hotel with each staff’s personal expression of exemplary service felt consistently. From the second you get picked up at the ferry or airport, get ready to be heard and nurtured like never before. The rooms are amazing, with waterfront postcard views and Instagram ready sexiness. But people make a place and between Jordan at the front office, George the valet, the maids and all the ladies at the spa, their genuine interest in making our time special at the Korali was heartwarming. Mykonos is tricky with all the lodging choices, Amex can sometimes make the difference with upgrades and perks, but relationships being people bring back and between the food, advice and touch points constantly monitoring for success, it can’t be beat by anyone else hands down. Don’t wait to lock in what will be one of your greatest trips ever!

Good location but small things let it down

Great location for Little Venice, generally helpful staff especially around the pool area. We stayed in a junior suite with our teenage daughter but did have to ask staff twice to replace the sofa she was sleeping on, with a bed! We did expect a little more from a 5 star hotel, but room cleaning was twice a day and bottles of water in our suite most ( although not all) days! We did ask for a late check out and unusually for a 5 star hotel, that was only available for an extra hour. We did use the locker room for showers before leaving and the facilities were clean and perfectly acceptable. Hotel is exceptionally clean, buffet breakfast was excellent although staff seem to have tables with the best view reserved for favoured guests?! In my opinion, all guests should be treated equally favourably although perhaps I am being churlish. However, this hotel is expensive so you expect a lot.

Pros, cons, the good, the bad

We chose this hotel as it was 5 stars, and by going half-board we thought it would save us some money. Quite the opposite. You end up spending more. Due to the fine dining and standard of service, you end up feeling guilty for not tipping, and you’ll often unknowingly choose something that incurs an extra cost. The bigger problem is that prices aren’t very clear, making it somewhat confusing as to what is included within your package and what is not. Many staff seemed confused when we stated we were half-board. It clearly isn’t very normal at this hotel. I would guess that the clientele this hotel attracts doesn’t really need to think about money, and therefore staff aren’t always entirely clear on costs. With this in mind, if you want to save money, you may be better off selecting a 3/4 star hotel. It might not be as nice but prices will be clearer and you won’t feel uneasy about figuring out what is and isn’t included in your package. Be aware, if cleaners knock on the door offering fresh towels, they may stand there awkwardly as they’re waiting for a tip. I had an awkward moment where I only figured this out after closing the door. The most uncomfortable moment of the holiday was the taxi man who dropped us off at the airport. The transport to and from the hotel was part of our package - it was paid for. The drive lasts about 4 minutes. When we were dropped off at the airport, the taxi man demanded a tip from us. It felt very uncomfortable and confrontational. I’ve never experienced someone ask me for a tip to my face. We had actually used all our spare cash, and when we said this to the driver, we were met with distain. It was a very uncomfortable experience to end our holiday on. It’s just not appropriate in any culture to vocally demand an extra tip from a paying customer. I also don’t think a 3-4 minute ride warrants a tip. This taxi man’s behaviour reflected really badly on the hotel in my opinion, as he is their driver to my knowledge. The taxi man should not be demanding tips from hotel guests for a 3-4 minute journey. Aside from this, the hotel is in a good location. Close to the town. It’s clean. The staff are mostly polite and hardworking. My biggest critique is the lack of clarity as to what will incur extra costs, especially when you’re half-board as there’s lots of confusion around dining.

Bad hotel

I was left very disappointed by Myconian Koralli Relais & Chateaux 5 stars hotel, it was absolutely not up to standard. The proposed food was too pricey for what it was. And someone broke into our room and stole several sentimental and expensive items of ours. I reported it to the staff and emailed them and they did not do anything about it. They said that they had a look at the CCTV and had not seen anything. It’s also not the first time it happened at their hotel btw (read the reviews). Overall, the hotel staff is very unprofessional and not helpful at all. It is definitely not worth the price, I would not recommend.

stunning!!

loved everything about this hotel! wish we could have stayed longer. it is in the perfect location, friendly staff, great amenities! overall a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again when we come back!! highly recommend!!!
