Vacation in Crete

Stayed many times in the past in this resort. Hotel has wonderful structure. Wonderful hotel with perfect service. Looking forward for summer season 2023 to surprise us with new experiences and memories.

Amazing experience! Totally recommend it.

I came here at 14th of September and I stayed for a week. I booked this package from Jet2holidays and also had half board with it. This hotel is located in a sloping area almost 20 minutes of the center of Hersonissos (might not be very suitable for those who have mobility problems). Lovely view from the hotels restaurant. It has two store apartments with either a garden view or a pool view. There are Many pools in the hotel that serve the buildings, with the largest pool being near the reception. It has plenty available sunbeds (but you can’t just put a towel to make it look unavailable). Their rooms are well equipped and spacious such as the restaurant which also has buffet with various meals that have international taste which represents the international costumers. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would stay again in this hotel and I would totally recommend it!

Incredible Holiday will treasure forever

I stayed at the hotel with a group of friends for our joint 50th birthday celebrations. The hotel was stunning , staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Especially guest services, who dealt with queries efficiently and had great advice and local knowledge. Our rooms were gorgeous, beds so comfortable. The breakfast buffet was amazing, the food selection was excellent. Simply spoilt for choice. We relaxed and enjoyed time by different pools, by bar, on beach . Stunning scenary. Such a wonderful stay, would absolutely recommend!

Great family friendly hotel

Great food with lots of choice, brilliant, warm, attentive staff, clean outside areas and bedrooms. We were so well looked after! Also a lovely hotel for a wedding, either on the pebbly beach or outside an adjacent Orthodox chapel. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful Honeymoon.

My wife and I had a belated honeymoon here back in June. The resort is not only large but incredibly beautiful. It resembles a large village as opposed to a ‘resort’ I would say. On arrival we were taken to our room via a golf cart and assisted with our luggage by a very friendly member of staff. When we walked into the room, we saw that sparkling wine, white wine and fruit had been prepared for us. As well as some ham salad wraps which were in the fridge as we were a late arrival (they were lovely too). The gent who drove us to the room also drove us back to the bar as quick as he could so we could make last orders, nice touch. The room had been upgraded for us due to it being our honeymoon, so we were given a larger room with two balcony spaces. The resort itself is scattered with beautiful foliage and well maintained gardens. These people clearly take pride in what they do. Other than one day wherein we travelled to Knossos and also Heraklion we mostly stayed on the resort (we would recommend seeing both whilst you are here). Our favourite area for fun and also to chat to other guests and staff was the pool bar. It was here we met George (or Geórgios), who worked at the pool bar most days. He was incredibly friendly, always took time to discuss interests and things with my wife and I, as well as always going out of this way to satisfy us. George is a truly exceptional member of staff, I was happy to call him a friend by the time I left to return home. He was the hardest working person we saw whilst there and you could tell he took pride in what he done for a living. Also his cocktail making skills were out of this world. Utterly delicious every single time. He is a credit to the Aldemar Knossos Royal. Please ensure he is rewarded for his hard work. My wife and I would also enjoy the large flume at the pool here. After taking a dip in the salty water we would sit and play games by the pool and have drinks. It was absolute bliss. If this pool doesn’t suit you there is also the large main pool as well as pools scattered all over the resort if you require more peace and quiet. We would also sometimes go down towards the beach where there is another bar, staff here were adequate, but at times felt like they didn’t quite understand how to mix a proper cocktail. So, we stuck to more basic drinks here. You can also see the beach from here. The beach itself is also beautiful and well laid out. There always seemed to be enough space for us if we felt like going down there on a whim and getting some sea air. As mentioned previously the resort is large so we would often take walks around it. If you are a keen outdoor runner, running around the grounds in the morning would be recommended (before it gets too hot). Meals are served three times a day and are substantial. Largely it’s the same items at breakfast each day which is served in the main restaurant. There are many continental options and so much delicious fresh fruit as well as fresh omelettes. Lunch was served in the snack bar downstairs, this would vary everyday. But there was always pizza and things for more fussy eaters, whereas I took it as a chance to try foods I’d never tried. Evenings meals were always fantastic with generally a different theme each night which mixes things up a little. Locally there is a small town with bars and restaurants scattered around. There is also a beautiful bay which we only discovered quite late on in our trip. I’d have liked to spend more time there. There was entertainment each night. This would vary but was normally musically based. Performers would perform from the island in the centre of the main pool. My wife and I would sit spangling our feet in the pool while we watched. All in all I would recommend Aldemar Knossos Royal and I hope to return again soon.
