Aglaia Apartments

11-18 July have a trip with a family(4 persons). Choose Aglaia , because saw and heard a lot of perfect reviews. And i want to say that it is not a rumor! That’s a whole TRUE! That was the best trip in Greece!! Everything because we have really exellent apartments/Aglaia. Separately want to thanks Kostas! He provide us one of the best room with view on the sea!Very kind and fair men! He will help you in any situations! Rooms were clean and shiny! Also we had clean pool! Everything were PERFECT! Wait for us!

Dirty hotel, shocking hospitality

Wasn't originally going to leave a review on TA, however after our honest feedback on booking.com and the owners response to it, felt compelled to. Firstly, it's extremely difficult to get to as directions stop in the middle of the main road (couldn't see it in the area as no signage etc) and when we phoned the reception his help was poor. We found the hotel not long after following the TA directions (Google & booking.com directions are useless as pin-drops in the middle of the road) - when we told him of our difficulties to find the hotel and that it took us 45 min his reply was "ok, no problem" although looking through previous reviews this seems to be a common problem (don't think he's noticed the trending feedback yet) and in the response to the review he arrogantly states "what should i tell you if your gps is damaged? To ask you today and i will buy you another new one?" - if you cannot accept genuine feedback from your guests, don't work in hotels or hospitality my friend.. The hotel is advertised with free parking - FYI, this is misleading as he told us to park on the street, adjacent to the main road, in between a bin and a bus stop. The cleanliness in the room is shocking and although we had expectations managed given a budget hotel, is was extremely poor (pictures below don't lie) although, the owners response to the review on booking.com was a very unaccountable "rooms had been disinfected before customers enter the room" and "balcony is open space and hair can come through the air and I cannot calculate this" Air-con is a paid-for extra. For a hotel - even budget - in the Crete Summer weather to charge for aircon is akin to buying a new pair of shoes but told at the till that the laces on shoes are extra. We've had bad experiences before and may do again in the future, which happens, however the arrogant, rude response from this owner sets it apart. Every business gets it wrong sometimes - but you take the feedback from YOUR customers and use it as a guide to improve - this owner clearly takes guest feedback as an attack and clearly hospitality isn't the right workplace for him. The same manner of responses are evident in previous reviews so clearly the normal behaviour - show some humility and accept the feedback as genuine! COULD be a lovely little hotel with some improvements, but not under this ownership I fear.

Best time of my life

I stayed at this apartment for 5 nights. At first look it didnt look all that but after the first night I was very pleased with what I payed. My dad had a different hotel which was much more expensive and from the outside looked better but when I entered his room it was the same as every other hotel in malia. I was not charged any extra fines and only had to pay 30 euros for the AC which is standard in every hotel in the area.i have no idea why people say they have been scammed? AC is also optional so you dont have to buy it. The nightlife is a 10 minute walk and feels shorter the more u walk it and a taxi is 7 euros. You can ask the hotel manager for anything u need from having a massage to ordering a taxi. The manager also has a chef which can cook food from a selected menu. The hotel is family run and is nice and quiet when u want the lay in from a loud night out. I would highly recommend going to this hotel as I think it is one of the best hotels for the price ure paying and the pool is very deep. The hotel is suitable for everyone including families and youngsters.

Excellent

I can not recommend enough this place, excellent service and very good value for money. The people working here are polite and they go out of theirs way to help you in any way they can. Special thanks to Kosta for making our holiday memorable, we will definitely be back!

Crete is Paradise

My wife & I just returned from our stay at the Aglaia apts and i cannot say good enough things about this hotel, the location, the VIEWS. if you are looking for nice time, you found it, this place is spectacular.
