Fantastic stay at Marbella Nido
We stayed at Marbella Nido in early September - awesome experience across, service is impeccable by everyone at the resort - no ask was too much, and we are known to be demanding. Breakfast options and quality of food was exceptional, views from our room were outstanding. Location is a bit in the middle of nowhere - but this was perfect for us. Beach was not the best beach we have ever been to due to the seaweeds and rocks but was adequate. The hospitality and service are phenomenal and we can not wait for our next visit!
Superb hotel in Corfu
A beautiful hotel with fabulous staff that looked after our every need … Dimitri in reception was fabulous and she looked after us incredibly well and George a barman in the Heritage Bar made the best gin and tonics . Our first holiday for two years and what a fabulous place to stay .. We will definitely return, all Covid precautions in place but you never felt that you were compromised as the staff dealt brilliantly with it. The highlight of our stay was dinner in the a la carte restaurant in the hotel … superb food… so mouth watering and the chateaubriand we shared was the best we have ever had… All in all a fantastic holiday .. thank you all
Excellent luxury small hotel
We stayed for two weeks at the Nido, which is a very well run luxury hotel that delivers outstanding levels of service across the board. The room is well equipped and comfortable with an excellent shower/bathroom. As the hotel is built into the hillside, the views are stunning from every room and we very much enjoyed watching one beautiful sunrise after another from our bed each morning. If you can't face the walk back to your room uphill they will ferry you about in golf buggies, which was lots of fun. The grounds are beautifully kept and every single inch of the place is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Great attention is paid to COVID-19 safety measures, which was very reassuring. The food was of a high standard with plenty of choice each evening. We ate at the a la carte restaurant Apaggio, which was very nice (not included in half board) and there are three good tavernas in the village for lunches or evening meals if you choose not to go half board or just want a change. I enjoyed a hammam in the spa (more spa style than traditional) and the gym looked good and seemed well used (personally I took the opportunity not to go to the gym for once!). We went on the Paxos/Anti Paxos day trip by catamaran (run in partnership with the hotel) and enjoyed it very much, Paxos is well worth a visit. It was very expensive compared to other boat trips you could take independently, but felt luxurious and was sold on that basis. Agios Ioannis Peristeron itself does not have much to it and mainly consists of the aforementioned tavernas, souvenir shops etc and there isn't really anywhere you can walk. Kerkyra (Corfu Town) is well worth a visit and it cost 1.60 Euro on the bus each way. Reception will provide you with a bus timetable and are very happy to suggest other places to visit and help you put together a little itinerary for the day. I needed to contact reception for maintenance (blocked shower) which was dealt with immediately and to call out the doctor, which was also very swift and carried out with care and sensitivity. It took us a couple of days to get down to the beach but once we did we fell in love with it largely due to the phenomenal view and went every day. It's only small and a sand and pebble mix with very comfy sunbeds and umbrellas that each have a call button to order drinks and food that will be brought to you very promptly. You can buy drinks and beer for less in the taverna next door but I quite liked the personal service. We lay only a few feet from the waters edge and the swimming was lovely, warm and crystal clear water. I would advice wearing water shoes to get into the water and the pebbles are no longer an issue. There are plenty of water sports available very close by. I know the hotel will always be striving to improve so if I'm going to be very picky and say that the pool water was too cold and with the exception of the guitarist at breakfast on Sundays, the evening entertainment was a bit lack lustre. To finish on a positive note, every member of staff always had a smile on their face and really couldn't do enough for you. I would also extend that to the local people of Agios Ioannis Peristeron who were without exception friendly and welcoming.
A wonderful small hotel with a big personal welcome
We could not have enjoyed a more pleasurable week’s holiday than we have just experienced in our “Nido suite” Everything about this small hotel is delightful but it is the staff who make it extra special. The General Manager, Amaryllis, was brilliant. a constant welcoming presence all around the hotel site and she set the tone for the all the other staff who were so helpful and cheerful and made everyone feel special with a personal greeting or acknowledgement. Also the food….either choose from a small, daily a la carte menu or a wide choice from an extensive, first class buffet (or both) at breakfast and dinner (I’ve returned + 2kg!) Some of the best food we’ve ever experienced in a hotel. The only marginally negative was our “suite”, which considering it was only recently built, was a bit ordinary. It was comfortable and perfectly adequate but both the room and the bathroom lacked any flair or “personality”. But this is a minor detail compared to the wonderful overall experience of the exceptional personal attention we were given throughout our week’s stay.
As good as ever
Returned after missing last summer! Food, service , cleanliness excellent. The little golf carts ferrying people up and down the road in the resort are both fun and efficient. It is not only the money spent on a hotel that makes it good - more importantly it is the team that makes it a success. This hotel makes it happen.
