A wonderful experience
We went for breakfast at this lovely hotel. Excellent value for money, you couldn't ask for more on a buffet, including pink champagne 🥂 Staff were professional and friendly, the head waiter Carlos was very attentive really went over and above. I can fully recommend.
Beautiful hotel & can’t wait do come back
This was the second time I have been to the HM tropical and I fall in love with the hotel. Everything good my favourite place in this hotel is the Rooftop pool & bar. The Hotel is next to the Ballermann 12 which is quite nice since you can have a 10 minute walk to the Ballermann 6 and a 20 Minute bus trip to Palma City.
A hotel so nice. With so kind personal. And so clean. With a nice swimmingpool on the roof as you can see on the foto. Breakfast with pancakes, Solomon and a lot of choices. Good prices voor drinks and foods
right in front of the beach, good continental breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Good sea facing rooms. a spectacular rooftop bar. 10 minutes from de airport, and 10 minutes from Palma city center
Pro’s: very close to the sea; nice breakfast (mostly); nice pool area, clean. We booked a room with a lateral sea view. The room we were given mainly overlooked a busy road and we asked for it to be changed and it was, really grateful for that! The description of rooms however never mentioned the fact that quite a few rooms are looking out to a less than picturesque and quite a noisy road. Staff is mainly really nice and make this place better! Con’s: where do I start? (1) When I booked, I selected a double bed, rather than 2 single as this was for my husband and I. We arrived and the beds were separate. We asked for this to be corrected and were told they’d do it, but we needed to understand that they’re separate for COVID reasons (!). Does it make sense? Not to me. (2) Then we discovered our safe box could only be activated if we paid €3 a day even though our booking clearly said that the price paid included the use of the safety box. We had to sort it out through the hotel manager who tried to persuade us that it didn’t matter what our reservation said as it was the hotel policy to charge for the use of the safe. (3) Beach towels - you need to pay a €10 deposit per towel; Iron - you need to pay a €10 deposit to use it. All these deposits are paid in cash (how is this COVID safe no one knows), where’s of course the beds in the same room are separated for COVID safety! You take the iron yourself, it comes without the ironing board and need to bring it back yourself too to get your deposit back. Can the use be logged in the system? No! (4) Dinner - buffet, that should be simple and delicious is turned into some complex dishes that aren’t of the best quality. To be fair, we only had 1 or 2 good meals there during our 9 night stay. You have to buy all drinks (even water) during dinner. (5) Drinks. Coffee served at breakfast is from a Nespresso coffee machine and it’s quite disgusting. If you want a proper coffee, you need to pay for it (!). Juices are all from concentrate, no freshly squeezed (which is now very rare, almost non-existent in other European hotels of this rating). (6) Rooms are very small. Ours wasn’t cleaned for 2 days until we went to reception and asked for it to be cleaned. Reception was kind and helpful, contacted housekeeping immediately and asked them to clean our room. He did though that this probably happened because this week was very busy with too much work! Need not say more….
