Brilliant

Stayed here with my husband on a B&B basis with my sister & her husband on our 4th visit to this hotel. From the airport you can take the bus to the hotel but because so many flights land at the same time the queues for the bus are ridiculous with not so polite people who don’t know the meaning of queuing politely. Booked a private minibus for 4 costing €85 return. Great to travel in comfort after an early start from home. Check in as usual swift, reception always friendly. Room on the 6th floor with beautiful views. Rooms with cooker, fridge, crockery, cutlery and the much loved kettle. Complimentary bottle of bubbly due to direct booking with the hotel. Super comfortable beds, walk in shower, toiletries and hair dryer supplied. Breakfast lovely, great selection, hot and cold foods, selection of teas and coffees. Love the fresh orange juice. Hotel was full when we were there but plenty of beds available by the pool with no selfish people blocking any. 😀 Cleaning of room done very well, top marks to the lovely Julie, so friendly, so efficient. In fact staff all round from breakfast room, reception, cleaning, pool, you are all wonderful and it’s a pleasure visiting this hotel. There are loads of restaurants, supermarkets just down the road at the San Augustin Shopping Centre. If happy to travel further nice walk along the harbour front with plenty of restaurants and cafes along the way. We love walking and thoroughly enjoy our walk to the Yumbo Centre, if not a taxi costs a mere €7.50. Down the back of the hotel walk down the path past the park you come to the other side of the beach, plenty of cafes and restaurants here as well. San Augustin our favourite part of Gran Canaria, we love this part of the island and with the lovely New Folias to stay in, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommended, many thanks to all at the hotel.

Happy experience

The Hotel is big and has very nice swimming pool area with nice garden. Reception is very simple and i love how Maria received us.All the stuff was nice and helpful .Rooms are big with balcony and has own kitchen area.I have got little treat in the room and i want to say thank you very much for it. They made us feeling at home.

Eating facilities closed

Don't get me wrong. If you like quiet, this is quiet and that's what I wanted but I understood that "Papis Grill" was on site but it hasn't been open all the time I've been here so if you want to eat or drink after about 4.30pm., you need to go out and there isn't much around. Guessing all inclusive in the area killed that and its not this hotels fault. Its hit everyone. However, they could try harder by opening the bar, a little piano music perhaps, late night tapas maybe? Time to get creative. But having said all that, good value rooms, lovely pool and no such thing as a sunbed fight. However...very quiet....Mui tranquilo....sehr ruhig but not much atmosphere either I'm afraid....plus....what about Papis Grill?

Just the break wife & I needed

Fantastic relaxing stay at hotel. Room was spotless & cleaned 6 days out of 7. Breakfast & pool lunch menu were very good. Friendly, helpful & very polite hotel team. Pool area was spotless & no rushing for sun lounges. We found all staff and international holiday makers very polite, friendly & respectful. To be honest the hotel loaction adjacent a park & a stones throw from beach were ideal. I'd go back tomorrow!!!

Wonderful Break in lovely hotel

This is a really nice hotel which has everything needed for a lovely break. Plentiful sunbeds around the pool with the most helpful lifeguard we have ever met. He helps with parasols, moving the sunbeds and really wants everyone to enjoy the time in the sun. The pool bar is well stocked and the food is plentiful and value for money. The staff are all very friendly. We have a studio ground floor apartment which is great for access to the pool. Ask for a high floor for a seaview if that's what you'd like. The beds are very comfortable and the cleaning is excellent. I would recommend this lovely hotel for a relaxing, few days in the sun, in a hotel with a really nice atmosphere and value for money. The shopping centre is 5 minutes walk away with lots of options for bars and restaurants. 35 euros taxi from the airport. Thank you for looking after us Hotel New Folias, you were wonderful, room 11.
