Quality & Price are excellent!

Quality for price were excellent and much better than I would have imagined. If this has something to do only under "corona-circumstances" I cannot verify but here we go: The restaurant - also with beautiful outside area for breakfast/dinner - had a very good choice of food: International, Spanish, Canarian cuisine, lots of different salads and in general fresh produce. Exemptions in the whole range of food like, industry produced "albondigas" - meatballs had nothing to do with the real stuff that I knew as albondigas. But then: the fresh fish - most of the times 2-3 types at dinner, good variety of meat and an abundance of vegetables - yes, they also have chips and a whole pizza/pasta place in case you like that - and selection for vegetarians didn't leave me hungry at night! The lobby, excellent garden and pool area (3x pools incl. childrens pool) and design of the buildings give it a touch of village atmosphere - much nicer than modern blank walls with glass. During the day I was mostly out for kitesurfing but when at the hotel, the excellent pool area provided relaxation and drinks at the outside restaurant/bar were affordable and good. If you don't have a car, a 20 minute walk will take to the next shopping and tourist area; taxi would be only 3 Euro oneway. I myself had a rental car to get all across the whole island. Since we talk about a 4-star hotel there may be some drawbacks but remember you don't pay the price of a 5-star hotel: A/C could work better and with less hum, matresses could be exchanged in a shorter lifecycle (in the room I were in), the "albondigas" could be better quality (..with a smile). I first booked for 18 nights through and .. extended 7 more days in situ. Would I book the hotel again? YES!

Beautiful setting out of town.

Best feature of this hotel is the setting. Uniterrupted Seaviews. Beautifully tended gardens, mainly cactus of many different varieties. Most staff were friendly and attentive. The buffet food was good. As is usual in Europe dishes are not always as hot as we expect in the UK. The scramble/queue for coffee at breakfast is disappointing and even when we discovered that a waiter would bring a jug we had to wait 15mins. Definitely an area to be improved. Drinks at the bars are well priced cocktails from Eur 5.10 with free pour measures. No at lounger service and some long wait times. Table service for drinks at the pool and lobby bar was good. Live entertainment we gave a miss. When we asked for information at reception we got it but otherwise difficult to find out about the hotel or local area. Wifi is only free in lobby on level 3 which is ridiculous. No tea/coffee in the room but you can borrow a kettle for a 20Euro deposit. Take your own mugs etc. Room cleaning excellent only problem was finding sockets for straighteners and phonechargers which involved unplugging lamps or moving heavy furniture. Costa Calma doesnt have much apart from a tree lined walk and the beach. We went to market day (which is for tourists). The walk is ok 15/20 mins. Ask reception for a map. Nice quiet atmosphere in hotel. Would stay again

Great hotel set in beautiful grounds

Very comfortable stay. The grounds are absolutely stunning and very well kept. Amazing infinity pool. You have to pay a €10 deposit for a beach towel. Shame there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but you can get a kettle from reception for a refundable deposit of €20. The bar staff are quite happy to supply you with a little jug of milk. The restaurant was very clean and there was a large variety of choices. Lots of fresh salads and fruit. We were full board and ate outside every meal. There didn't seem to be enough waiting staff which was frustrating when wanting to order drinks at the table. Entertainment in the evening was a bit hit and miss. They have the same act twice a week, husband and wife......no idea why the hotel management have them playing twice a week because they are very outdated and not particularly talented. Best act was the tribute to the drifters guys, they were fantastic and had lots of guests up dancing. The entertainment team in the day work really hard, putting on a stretching class every morning and aqua aerobics around midday, plus other activities during the afternoon. Leo and Michelle deserve a big mention, they were very enthusiastic and personable. Our room looked slightly tired and outdated but clean and comfortable. We would definitely return.

A nice large Hotel

The first Impression was very positiv, a very large and interessting Lobby and the Ladies at the reception were very friendly and helpfully. To find the room was a little bit complicated, cause there was nothing marked to find the right Lift. Rooms were still very nice, even the bed was a little bit too small for 2 persons (1,40cm) and more for honeymooners, or people Who are still terribly in love.....at least...for us acceptable. The dinning room was very large and the Athmosphere, were more like a Cantine. Instead to the Inside Interieur it was outside very cosy, especially at dinner time. The Staff was all the time very friendly and made a good job. The food was a really revelation and both of us were happy that we have stood only one week and of course I mean it absolutely positive....great food in all varaities. The Poolarea is very nice and you have a great view at the Front row over the Atlantic. Fantastic and large is the infinity Pool, but after a few days we knew why the Pool is mostly empty...very chilly...even it was written 21C, i guess it was at least only 18 or 19C. Fitnesscenter was still okay...more or less with good Equipment but with no view/Windows except TV Screens. Defenately we will come back to this hotel

2nd and the last visit

Well i returned to this hotel.overall it was ok ok room very clean, people work very hard to make nice gardens.i was dissapointed because lagoon was under reconstruction and before during and after you cant find these information.and this was important for me.also food was no good.breakfast i must say very good only they are still sleeping no blant based milk no pb yougurt.but dinner...really they are missing fantasy nothing good and special for vegans neither vegetarians... And chaos.what they had often untasty.and the sweets horror cant believe how bad it was in a 4* hotel.
