This is our 5th Christmas stay at this hotel with our family and we'll be back. Because of its remote location, and close proximity to the beach it makes it feel like a very exclusive resort. We avail of the all inclusive package which works for us especially with our children (age 9 and 11). The hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean. The food is fresh and caters for all. The yoga and pilates teachers are excellent. There is a slight language barrier between some staff and guests if you don't speak Spanish. The kids pool and pathway down to the beach need to be resurfaced. We look forward to returning again next Christmas.
Fifth time staying here
This was our 5th Christmas at the Melia with our family (age 9 & 11) and we will be back. We go all inclusive and location is very isolated which suits us, you feel like you're at an inclusive resort.
I have been using Melia Hotels for over 30 years and have been a loyalty rewards member for about the same. This Hotel is by far the worst Melia Hotel I have ever stayed at,absolutely Wretched place and accompanied by undesirable lousy members of staff. Myself and my 11 year old daughter arrived on December 28th and Left yesterday on January 2nd. I am hoping ahead and writhing review in the hope that people thinking of using this Hotel Don't. In the Hotel they've got 2 restaurants but you as a guest are only allowed to use one restaurant (CAFE AT BEST) to have your evening meal in. When I realised this I went to the reception and spoke to the lady manager and asked if its at all possible could me and my daughter use the other restaurant 1 or 2 evenings to which her response was unfortunately Sir this restaurant is only to be used by loyal guests. On New Year's Eve Myself and my daughter had booked into the restaurant we were allowed use at 9,10pm,on entering and viewing the food on offer neither myself or my 11 year old daughter could spot anything at all that we fancied eating so just had a drink and then went upto the Bar in the reception area that we'd also booked a table at. When we booked this table as we were told we had to do because it was New Year's Eve and it would be busy but you were not allowed to just turn up and sit anywhere,on arrival at the reception bar there was another couple sat at the table we had booked. On mentioning this to the bar manager he moved us two to another table that would gave sat eight people round. Anyway to say I wasn't happy would be a understatement,me and my daughter chatted about how bad of a hotel this was and I apologised for making such a video choice for our Christmas holiday. Then at 11.05pm as I approach the bar to get us both another drink in this alll inclusive hotel I was told by the various manager that I couldn't have another drink bethe all inclusive bar had shut I could however buy another drink fo me and my daughter. To top of this complete disaster of a holiday now we both left the reception bar area after a loud vocal company myself to other members of staff and guests and went to our room. I can only advise Anyone that is thinking of staying at this Melia Hotel Do Not Do So. I can't do anything more than tell people how bad of a place yhis is to stay at
Our clothes were stolen
The hotel and rooms are beautiful. Some areas need some attention, including the tennis courts. The beds in the room are a bit uncomfortable and the mattress feels old. The gym is OK and needs more equipment. The food is really great. We stayed for two weeks and didn't get bored of breakfast or dinner. Plenty of options and really good quality food. The staff were mostly friendly but were overworked on reception. We had to wait a long time to talk to someone, every time. Sometimes the staff told us different things and can be a bit rude. We left our clothes in the communal washing machine and they were stolen. We asked several times at reception for help with this and didn't get anywhere. No CCTV. We weren't offered any kind of help or compensation for this. A nice hotel and area but for the price, we would expect a lot better.
Excellent Beach Hotel
Very difficult to fault this hotel. Perhaps the most reassuring matter in current times was the great effort being made on keeping everything clean and hygienic. We have stayed 3 times previously and never had any complaints about cleanliness but the hotel staff really excelled themselves. We were very impressed. We stayed all inclusive and the food and drink were excellent. It seems a bit petty to moan about the long queues for coffee and eggs at breakfast when overall our stay was so good and the staff were clearly making such a great effort. Will definitely be returning soon.
