Fabulous hotel in idyllic location. Staff were very friendly and cleaning staff kept everywhere spotless. Bar staff Diego and Jesus were great and please I wanted to mention the Pilates instructors Ann Marie and Denise who were amazing. All in all a super holiday

Great family holiday

We had a fantastic stay at the Melia Fuerteventura. We had a sea view room which had a jacuzzi bath on the balcony. We had interconnecting rooms which gave us all some privacy. Food was plentiful and varied. Drinks were top shelf too. We all loved the pool and spent most time around the larger salt water pool

3 star hotel not 4 star

We recently went to the Meliá hotel in Fuerteventura, we had read very mixed reviews so were slightly concerned. The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful but the hotel and rooms are in need of a major refurb, the rooms are very clean but are dated and need repairs. This hotel may have been a 4 star at some point but now it is more like a 3 star. It’s in the middle of nowhere and is a 3.5km walk to Costa Calma along the beach, the hotel do not offer any transfers to/from the town and it’s 10 euros in a taxi each way. We paid for all inclusive and by the middle of the week we went into town for lunch and dinner as the food was not great. They had a better selection at lunch than they had for dinner. The outside pool area is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept, the beach is also beautiful. If you want relaxation with no bars or restaurants nearby then this is for you, we were aware it was out of the way but don’t think we realised quite how remote. The balcony door was also broken and my boyfriend got locked on the balcony until I managed to open it.

Relaxing - just what we needed

What a find. This hotel ticked all the boxes for us. We did our research and choice it based on its remote location and fantastic views We had a panoramic sea view room - which was just perfect - beds very comfortable - bathroom well appointed and great rituals products to use. View was breathtaking and sitting out on the sun loungers each morning before it came into full sun was so peaceful We signed up to the green choice as few mornings - where they credit your account €15 if you skip housekeeping - we then used this credit for some cocktails/wine not included in the all inclusive. Pool area well designed and no issues with loungers - so quiet and peaceful - children’s pool and pool for the classes in another section so any noise didn’t overtake the whole complex I was so impressed with the food - we are foodies so was worried wouldn’t like it - but so much choice. We ate at all the last sittings and found no issues in getting served - no wait for omelette station in the morning and no wait for the grilled meats at night. Each night seemed to have a highlighted dish - for example - the seafood bar, sushi night, Mexican - all along side a huge selection of stews, salads and meats. One highlight was the whole cooked salmon - stunning! Always full by time desert came - but made use of individual ice creams in the freezer plus the sweeties :-) lots of nice looking cakes to be had if you like that or circle back around to the cheese station. The snack bar by pool for lunch was always handy - burgers, breads, pasta, pizza - the salads and fruits always so fresh. Nice self serve ice cream machine and sauces in there too! Drink selection was second to none - help yourself wines/cava/ beers/teas/coffee/soft drinks plus a pool bar that did cocktails or whatever you fancied. Most things included - just some cocktails that need say an individual bottle of ginger ale (Moscow mule etc) or need more prep time - but they have glasses prepped and ready to go for mojitos so had quite a few of those!! The cocktail bar before dinner - lovely service from all the staff working - very friendly and hard working. At dinner - we would grab a bottle of red wine and bring it to table and no issues with that. So felt like a relaxing meal. Could self serve beer/water too. We sat outside and listened to the music from upstairs patio- always a great band There’s a shop onsite - although didn’t need much - except mosquito repellent as hadn’t read they were an issue - if you have Celtic skin - they are about at night - first night we had nothing on and paid the price - but the spray helped so def pack that!!!! We loved the hotel -were going to book again for same time next year but hear they are closing for a big refurbishment- just hope we can still afford it when it reopens!!!

First week was amazing but second week was so so disappointing

It’s a beautiful beautiful place and the beach is not far away The first week was amazing food was excellent 10 out of 10 . But omg the second week the food was dreadful the vegetables were over cooked mush the fish was undercooked the pancakes in the morning were a absolute mess presentation was shocking having to wait for 5min for the guy to cook fried eggs. At night lots of dishes missing and no new ones put in there places.choice of food was reduced. In the sweet desert section it was the same dishes were empty and not getting topped up. The empty plates were left on tables and the guests were shifting them on to other tables so they could continue with there meals ,while the waiter shifted candies and chatted with guests ..think two waiter actually went home half way through the shift on Friday evening 🥺🥵 The bar staff at the top bar were lovely so helpful and friendly and worked non stop.🙏🙏 big thanks. Bar staff at pool bar were nice also.. The hotel was lovely and clean from top to bottom toilets were spotless . After the first week we were ready to book for January but after the second week sadly we decided to book elsewhere.😰😰..it was hard to believe we were in the same hotel Do hope the hotel management read this honest comments and check the cctv and see it for themselves.
