Beautiful quiet location not far from town.
Elegant accommodation at beautiful location. Staff treated every guest special. It was nice to be in a quiet secluded location. It was easy to take taxis to and from town every day. Breakfast was wonderful.
A disastrous 5 stars Ilusion
A Disastrous 5-Star Illusion If I could give zero stars, I would, as that's the treatment the "5-Star" deserves. This hotel claims to be a luxury destination but delivers an experience that barely scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Upon arrival, the ambiance of the hotel didn't quite live up to its 5-star promise. Though the staff were present and seemed to be trying their best, the overall atmosphere felt lackluster and uninspiring. The moment I entered the room, I was met with a blend of unsettling odors. A stale smell of cigarette smoke lingered in the air, accompanied by an unidentifiable musty scent. The wallpaper was peeling, revealing an unpleasant and damp layer beneath. The bed was a lumpy, uneven affair that made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The pillows were thin and provided little support, leaving much to be desired. The bathroom left a lot to be desired as well. The amenities were sparse, consisting of a half-used bottle of 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and a single, hardened bar of soap. The towels were rough and worn, and the shower temperatures were inconsistent, making for an unpredictable and uncomfortable experience. The breakfast was a disappointing affair. The options seemed dated and unappetizing, with items such as stale cereal, rubbery scrambled eggs, and a questionable bacon substitute. The quality of the food was far from what one would expect from a 5-star establishment. The Wi-Fi was a source of frustration during my stay. The signal was weak and unreliable, which made it challenging to stay connected. When I inquired about the issue, it appeared that the problem was not a new one, and there wasn't much the staff could do about it. In conclusion, my stay was far from the 5-star experience I had anticipated. If you're seeking luxury, I would recommend exploring alternative accommodations. This hotel's offerings don't even reach the level of a 2-star establishment and leave much room for improvement.
Just outstanding
The most beautyfull place. Soulful room and the staff delivered service far above expectations. We would deffently be back and enjoy their superior breakfast at anytime. The Castle is amasing and the garden is so beautyfull
Exceptional staff, magical hotel!
This hotel is gorgeous but the staff are really the pinnacle of the experience, so attentive! Even before we arrived the receptionist Laura had offered exceptional advice (very patiently as I ask alot of questions!) We had the warmest greeting from her when we arrived and also met the charming Mamadou who showed us to our room and was very helpful during our stay with anything we needed, he's a very kind man who clearly enjoys his job and loves the hotel. Laura took the time to find us restaurant recommendations (she even researched vegetarian options for us as we don't eat meat) and she offered superb local advice on everything, including the weather! She was a very cheerful person to return to after our time exploring Malaga and was always very interested to hear about our day. The hotel itself is fabulous, very well appointed indeed. We stayed in room 302 which was truly the most beautiful room with a lovely (huge) terrace. The toiletries are lovely, a shampoo that doesn't strip your hair and moisturiser that actually does... oh and the shower, so lovely! It's roomy, great water pressure and beautifully tiled. Breakfast was just magical, served on the beautiful terrace surrounded by trees and plants and the beautiful building itself, a real haven of tranquility. The food offering was sublime, the right amount of choice, exceptional quality and the waiters we're just perfect, almost invisible but always there when you needed them (this is an art!) Just what you need in the morning, we couldn't fault it. We can't wait to return, this has been a fabulous experience and this hotel has earned its 5 star status with us! Please don't change anything or anyone! Nearly forgot to mention the beds.... amazing! So so comfortable :-) Truly we loved this hotel and the staff!
Gorgeous hotel
This hotel is totally gorgeous. Beautiful building with real attention to detail. We stayed in room 401, with an amazing roof top terrace. The room was furnished to a very high standard and was a complete haven to return to after a day of walking and sight seeing. The restaurant on the first floor has both indoor tables and tables set in the most beautiful garden area. It was not that warm when we were there, but the heaters around the tables worked really well. It was one of the nicest outside eating areas I have experienced. The service at this hotel is faultless. Everybody, without exception really cared about your experience and nothing was too much trouble. On the second night, I left my reading glasses in the garden whilst having a drink and they were returned to my door, 15 minutes after I had left them there. Breakfast was fantastic-again served in the garden if you choose outdoor eating and all table service. This hotel is about 35-40 minutes walk to the old town and the port area, but we loved that. Taxis are readily available if you prefer not to walk. I have stayed in some lovely places, but this was really special and I will definitely return here when next in Malaga. Thank you for a fabulous break.
