LOVELY family vacation
I visited this hotel at the beggining of August with my family, with two small kids. We liked a lot everything about the hotel. The amenities, rooms, cleaness, restaurant, food, service from the staff. My kids enjoyed the pool, the playground near the restaurant, and also the ride with the mini buses from the hotel to the beach. They were clean well mantained and very correct( the driver). We really had a great time.
Amazing hotel and amazing staff
A group of friends and I stayed here a week ago. The pool is lovely with great views, food is amazing and the staff are the nicest hotel staff I've ever come across. They went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely stay. Would definitely return!
Exceptional views! And exceptional hotel!
I stayed here in June and was originally given a room on the 2nd floor facing the car park even though we requested a better room. We luckily got to move rooms and was much happier! We stayed in room 209 and as it was a corner room, much bigger and looking out at the mountains and sea. What I didn't understand with the rooms was it came with 2 cushions for the bed and 1 big cushion for the sofa but when we let the maid clean the room they were taken away? The hotel is well looked after with lovely grounds and flowers, exceptional views and a beautiful swimming pool area. The staff were always friendly and ready to help you as well! We didn't take breakfast as we were here for a festival so the normally free breakfast was 10 euros, but we had lunch here mostly everyday and it was so lovely! When I bought an ice cream I was asked for a tip which I said no to as I was just buying an ice cream but we always tipped when we ate at the restaurant We loved this hotel and when in Dhermi again we will be returning, the rooms were so quiet as well, we really felt quite relaxed when we went home despite being in Dhermi for a festival
Great experience, big hotel with a majestic sea view. The food service in the restaurant was very delicious. The sea food is very fresh. The hotel has a big parking spot. Also there is a taxi service from the hotel in the hill to the beach down the road.
Good hotel for families with children
My husband and I stayed in this hotel towards the end of August and the beginning of September. The hotel was very busy in August, most of guests were families with children- that meant lots of noise during the day and mess during the breakfast time. The atmosphere has changed quite a lot in the second week of September when the hotel was occupied mostly by adults ( the season ends in the 3rd or 3th week of September). Positives: the place is clean and spacious, the hotel staff are very helpful. The shuttle bus will take you to the beach whenever you want (up until 7pm) so no set times for drop off or pick up which is great. Free sunbeds at the Elysium part of the beach. Food ordered from the menu in the evening was very nice. Negatives: breakfast buffet offers the same variety of food on a daily basis with very little moderation so if you are going to stay a little bit longer you may get bored with the choice. The hotel rents part of the Dhermi beach, the beach is always busy and you will be lucky to get the front row seats. The seats are located next to a bar which very often plays loud music (felt like I was in Ibiza). The hotel has 5 starts in the logo but it is not a 5 star hotel- there is no gym (although they have a basketball/volleyball court), no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Buffet breakfast also not up to the 5 star standard, limited toiletries in the bathroom, the room is clean and functional but not luxurious. Now a little bit about Dhermi: the beach is packed with sunbeds, packed in like sardines. Private beaches will have 5-6 rows of sunbeds so you will hardly see any sea. If you do not want to stay at the Elysium part, you will have to pay between 1000-5000 lek per day for two sun loungers and an umbrella. The beach is quite long, but there are hardly any quiet places - every few hundred meters you have a beach bar and they usually play loud music (we visited Drymades beach one day and it was even worse). The beach is not overlooked by tall buildings so it gives you a sense of relaxation to same extent. The water is clean and warm but the beach is covered with pebbles so you need to bring aqua shoes otherwise it can be a challenge to get in and out of the water. Forget about long walks on the beach in the evening with dipping your feet in the water, your feet will sink in the pebbles and it is like walking sand dunes. With hindsight, I wish we rented a car and could explore beaches that were less crowded. Restaurants: there are lots of restaurants to choose from but they all serve a very similar menu : seafood, risotto, steak, pasta- ok if you are visiting just for a few days.
